.

Hi All,

Had psoriasis for approx. 8 years, Knees, stomach, elbows, toe and finger nails. Tried a good few creams  - Dovobet, Lotroderm, Trimovate etc. and received the "There is no cure" from the dermatology clinic.

I really like the look of this site,  more down to earth and informal.

Cheers,
John

Hello John  Welcome to Psoriasis Club.

Good to hear you like the look and feel of Psoriasis Club. We like to keep it simple and as we are not money driven there is no clutter. (Well apart in the [Group Specific] they are a messy lot in there)   Big Grin

No there is no cure, but it can be managed. It just takes some time working out what is best for you.

Regards.

Fred.

Hi John and a big  Welcome your dermatologist is right there is no cure no matter what some people will tell you. I'm glad you like the look of the club, we are all sufferers of the disease and happy to share experiences.
If the creams are not being effective tell the dermatologist who may move you onto something that might give better control

As others have said just dive in all the inmates are friendly

Hi John , welcome to the forum .
You will find more information on here than anywhere that I have come across and it's backed up with all the experience of people who have the problem so any questions you ask will be answered by inmates who know what all the problems are not by secondhand assumptions by medical people who don't have it .
Treatments have come on at a very great rate over the last 10 years and are progressing still very quickly so maybe within the next few years, even though there is no cure, it will reach the point where it will be under control.
Enjoy the forum and don't forget there is nobody trying to sell you crap that does not work like other sites and nobody claiming miracles have happened so just jump in , by the way a question, is the submarine museum still at Birkenhead?

I am new here too, and browsing. Look at all the people who took the time to say "hi". That is very cool. I will say hi too. I am in your boat, just wish we had a better motor, cause I feel like we are being swept out to sea!

Nice way of saying it Angela. . Smile
Luckily there are several motors available, that you can use, or try to use. Big Grin
