I would think stay on Cosentyx as long as possible. I guess if you leave it, you cannot go back to it as your body may have been making anti-bodies for it, which perhaps explains why it isn’t working so good anymore.
MTX is out of the question, I agree, it won’t do a thing for your Psoriatic Arthritis.

The new bio’s remain a gamble. I don’t know the mechanism of our bodies that makes a Bio stop working. It must have something to do with the substance of the bio. They try to make the new bio’s so that it will be adapted as good as possible by the body. And they are succeeding, which is why Cosentyx and Stelara do better then the older Humira, Enbrel, and whatever names they have.

Yes wilder days. Whistle

I don't know why I can't go back to a bio I have used before, but she said it was against the French rules so it's not possible.

I'm keeping an open mind till I speak to my dermatologist, but getting my head ready to change if that's the way we decide to go.

Sorry about your lumps and bumps Fred because it it's holding it's own on the P and PsA to a point then at least you know where you are with it, don't they make a antihistamine as a liquid ?.

Gah it’s such a shame when they fail after you’ve got along quite well on them. I actually did try going back to one I’d had before - they said it wasn’t usual here but I tried it but it didn’t work.

Hope you get to a good solution soon.

Fred, daft question mate, is it cold where you live in france mate ?

In the last 2 - 3 weeks I too have been itchy and I had my Consentyx fix 2 weeks ago !

The only thing I can think of is that it’s the cold weather here on Exmoor we have ?

Thank you Dave, yes I could get antihistamine but it's only going to stop the itching. It's only going to mask the problem, and it just keeps coming and going.

Thank you TL, yes it is a shame but if it is failing then at least I still have Taltz or Tremfya to try and more in the pipeline. Interesting you trying one you had tried, my thinking is in France they say if you tried it and you needed to move on then there is no point in going backwards. Makes sense really.

Hello GB yes it's a bit chilly here at the moment, but this problem started last Summer. At first I thought it was the hot weather but obviously it's nothing to do with the weather as it's still happening now.

Ok the last shot isn't doing it's stuff and things seem to be getting worse for the psoriatic arthritis. I complained about my right hand fingers recently, but it's spreading and it should be getting better as I only took the shot last weekend.

My right hands fingers are getting to be almost useless, I can no longer make a fist with it and even the therapy ball isn't helping. Not a huge amount of pain at rest, but the fingers are very painful if trying to use them. I can also feel psoriatic arthritis in me left wrist, both hips, one ankle, one shoulder and some toes.

Yes I know it's winter and damp, but we have had a couple of nice days recently and it's getting worse.

I actually think this is the worse I have ever felt with psoriatic arthritis since being on Cosentyx, and I've had it long enough to know that it's not looking good.

Psoriatic arthritis score: Going to have to put it up from 1 to 9

Psoriasis score: Still at 5.

Appointment next week.

It sounds like your suspicions might be right - good thing you have the appointment coming up.

Yes I think so TL. I have been holding off changing to another bio as I want to keep the psoriatic arthritis away, but if it's starting to fail in that then I think I need to be more open minded about a switch.

I'm trying very hard to tell myself it's still working, but if I look back I have been saying it for a while. I honestly don't want to change, but there is definitely something going on, and it's never been great for psoriasis so maybe I should start looking forward.

At least I have a great relationship with my dermatologist and she will always listen to my thoughts, we have been together over 10 years now so we know each other well.

Do you have the same system as here where you see a rheumy separately then they talk to each other and decide together what to prescribe, or do they do something else?

85 Yes but after the second try and me refusing to ever do it again, my dermatologist just leaves it to me and her.

I explained that the dumb arse rheumy only wants to feed me methotrexate and she even told me the Cosentyx would never help psoriatic arthritis. That and me explaining that we also have a clash of personalties and if I ever had to go there again I would probably get thrown for abuse, we decided to knock the idea on the head.

Me and rheumy on not on each others favourite list, and I'm happy that way. Actually I would rather chop a limb off than ask them what was wrong with it.
