Today I had an appointment with the dermatologist and she examined my skin and was happy with the lack of plaques
I told of my scalp and the bit of flaking there

Now bearing in mind I have been on Fumaderm for 7 years and it has been very good to me in as much as I almost forget I have psoriasis and don't consider it anymore when making plans. I can wear dark or light clothes without any embarrassment .To be honest I am beginning to forget how bad it was for 50 years of my life

I'll get to the point, while there they wanted me to switch from Fumaderm to Skilarence, I was pleased as hopefully my GPs surgery can prescribe it for me
Basicly it is the same drug as fumaderm that I was on but doesn't have the added salts that fumaderm does so should be a straightforward switch
I will update as soon as I get my prescription filled ...I'm getting nervous at the moment as I'm very low on fumaderm tablets and hope tomorrow I can pick up the skilarence and begin
I'm hoping my thread will be boring and tell there's no change
Time will tell

Of course I will be intensively following your reports on Skilarence.
Certainly you have my wish that it indeed will be a boring report, with basically nothing to mention. Good luck. Thumb

Good luck Jim I look forward to boring reports too. Thumb

Question: Do you know the reason they are switching to Skilarence ? My thinking is because it's a prescription drug country wide now.

Things to do Whistle

#1 Update your profile

#2 make a last post in your old jorunal pointing to this one.

Thanks Fred I'll wait till I get the skilarence before I update my profile
I went to collect my tablets from the GP surgery today only to be told that my GP can't prescribe it as it flags up hospital prescriptions only

Seems I got a useless dermatologist that didn't know the facts although it must have flagged up on their computer that it's hospital only prescription ...she's put me in the position of possibly running out of tablets before I can get the new ones have tried phoning the hospital but there's no reply on a Friday afternoon

I won't be making a locked copy as I don't think there will be much content to keep up with (hopefully)

I will do a note with a link here thanks for the reminder

Skilarence has been registered for Psoriasis Europe wide. As far as I know Fumaderm only for Germany. Why Jim got a prescription for that ? I would not know. Maybe ordered from Germany.

Over here Skilarence is the prevalent prescription, drugstores don’t deliver Psorinovo anymore, they are not allowed to. Still Psorinovo can be ordered at the drugstore that produces it.
All (previous Psorinovo using) patients are forced to Skilarence. First signs are that 50% of them fail on Skilarence, they are being put back to Psorinovo with the indication “medically obliged” , but they have to order themselves. All insurances do support it. Which is smart because it is half the price of Skilarence.
