So the story so far
Dermatology meeting last tuesday the dermatologist was running over an hour late
Sat down and told her nothing has changed  she had a look and agreed I was virtually clear

She went and saw the consultant came back and announced that they were going to switch me to Skilarence

Wrote a prescription and told me to get Skilarence from my GP

Found out when I tried to collect tablets that they can't be dispensed by a GP only by hospital the doctor told me it was red flagged on the computer

Had a weekend without tablets as the NHS is asleep at weekends

Monday couldn't get through but today managed to get sense from a dermatologists secretary

She managed to get a prescription for me to collect today

Collected and took to pharmacy sat 30 minutes waiting for it to be filled
Got a call and she stood holding fumaderm tablets

I said the dermatologist wants me on skilarence not those ...the pharmacist said we keep fumaderm here for you and we don't have skilarence

And gave me two weeks supply of fumaderm telling me she would get on to dermatology and get it sorted before the box of fumaderm runs out

Talk about p*ss*ps and breweries
You would think the dermatologists would check to see what the pharmacy actually have in stock and tell them if I'm the only one on fumaderm to run them out with me and then switch when they are out of stock of fumaderm

I despair  Confused
Rant over

Doh how stupid. Your rant is really relevant.

It does not have to be that difficult. If you would order Psorinovo, you would have it on your doorstep I guess in 4 days, while this is an international order.

Dear God.
You couldn't make it up could you. I think the NHS is now going out of its way to make things as bad as is humanly possible.

One point, this is a Pharmacy - not a Tesco internet order that they put an item in your order if one of your order lines is out of stock. They really shouldn't be dispensing an alternative to the prescription, even if they keep them in stock for you.

I don't blame you having a rant

I have seen a presentation today. It was about e-Health. That means support of patients with digital tools, like apps and a patient profile with the patients information.

In that presentation it was said that the Dutch are hopelessly behind in implementation, they stated that the British, with their centrally arranged NHS, was very far on the right track....

..... I had to Snigger a bit

Sorry to hear that Jim, but yes everyone knows a GP can not prescribe those types of treatments. ............... Well all of us here know that even if they don't.

But in this case the positive is that it's not such a big deal as you still have fumaderm and skilarence is pretty much the same thing.

Again like I said recently in another post "do these people understand that stress is not good for psoriasis" answer Nope they don't.

Oh well like I said it's not a big step and a couple of weeks isn't going to hurt anything, but I would be tempted to phone them in few days just to check.

Good luck and who knows it could be worth waiting for. Thumb

Would you like a cup of sugar, Jim? Well it looks a bit like sugar, but there the similarity ends.

It sounds like the pharmacy has some Fumaderm that it has stocked for you. As Fumaderm works for you, and you have taken it successfully for many years, I don't think it a big deal whether you keep taking it instead of Skilarence. Not giving you a script in time is dropping the ball.

Cheers
