Well you're not doing a very good job of it. Who has not been honest?

I have seen nothing but honesty in the replies to you here, we might not be giving the answers you were expecting ....but I don't think anyone has lied or tried to belittle what you are doing. Confused

I find that rather condescending. We have many members trying different treatments and we have many members that have had psoriasis for a long time, so please don't suggest that our members are not looking outside the box. Angry

You should have a good look through other threads and you will see a lot of different things being tried.

Get your point across about LDN by all means, but please show some respect to others.
I'm sorry, I mean no disrespect, but I'm not understanding some of the logic here. Government approved treatments, less information preferred. It's very backwards. Maybe I'm barking up the wrong tree.

Dont take offence, but we aren't a bunch of mushrooms here waiting for the prophet. I think my treatment the best, but it is about as unconventional and anti-establishment as you can. I would not dream of foisting it upon other members as I know full well that it may be useless or even harmful to them. Nonetheless I share my experience.

There is much knowledge and experience to be gained here only for the asking. For example, one thing I have been wondering of late thanks to information provided here, is whether the initial liver toxicity from dimethyl fumarate can be reduced with n-acetyl cysteine? Finding such answers holds hope of helping others.

Cheers

Bill

Well, as you probably know it's used as a treatment for liver toxiciy due to acetaminophen.

Is that DMF your using? How's that working for you?

Hi,

Yes, my treatment is excellent, but I wouldn't recommend it and you would be ill-advised to copy it. I was very lucky not to have harmed myself. By trial and error I now have a very safe and effective therapy, so I continue with it. There are a great many effective therapies for psoriasis and psa. They need to be managed by an expert as they can have very dangerous side effects, and may require sophisticated testing and monitoring and potentially the coordination of many specialists where co-morbidities are involved.

If you really wish to have good control of your disease then steer clear of alternative medicine wonder cures. The longer you dont have effective management of your disease, the more you will suffer.

Cheers,

Bill

Good to hear it's working for you Bill.

Heard it can be effective, but it was never an option for me due to liver concerns.

Colon cancer, if it spreads, generally hits the liver. Doctors never warned me about this. Had to research it myself. Sure enough, my Onc wants a cat scan of it, now that time has past since the surgery. If it reaches the liver, the prognosis is dire. I guard against it, I think very well. Most of my supps are liver protective, and anticancer. As well as being beneficial for the colon. Plus with all the superfoods I eat bombarding my GI tract with anticancer properties, I'm sure my colon is doing quite well also. I have another tentative colonoscopy scheduled.

I have many specialist at the ready. Had more doctor visits in the last 4 years, than I had in my 50 years prior. All are informed of my plans. All know of my of supplementation and LDN.

I take no prescribed medication from any doc. Only take LDN, and the supplements mentioned earlier. And most of my supplements are not taken daily.

I'm pretty confident my liver is in great shape as confirmed by my Rheumatologist and the latest lab results. She believes my liver could handle the DMARD's quite easily. But as mentioned earlier, I opted for LDN.

I need to take a whole body approach to wellness. With multiple ailments, (COPD, Cancer recovery, PsA),... LDN seems like a wise choice for me.

I will check back here in November, and update, what if any benefits LDN has had on my PsA. I'm a bit too busy to be an active member at yet another forum.

Wish everyone the best of health.

Thank you for that informative post ....I am looking forward to reading updates on your progress and hope it works well for you,
I'm glad you have a support team to monitor you

As another cancer survivor I wish you good health and good luck

I shall be mentioning LDN to my rheumatologist at the end of the month and see if she is aware of the benefits I may get from it

It's a pleasure Jim meeting you and others here. Sorry for the misunderstandings. Always happy to meet fellow survivors.

Just an addendum to my last post. I'm not at all opposed to prescribed medications, when I said I don't take any. It's just that they haven't been offered as yet, other than the DMARDs. I'm sure when my COPD progresses, I'll need help. And if my PsA becomes troublesome again, I will need to explore other options available. In which case, you guys here might be of great benefit to me.

Just wondering though, does the cold effect you guys as bad as it does me?  We are having a heat wave in NYC right now, and I needed to turn on the AC. And noticed my joints are aching I'm a bit more.

Thanks.
