Well, was back at the derm today. Fumerate isn't working and still getting new spots.
Stomach finally settled and pain in hands and feet less though.
Time to stop Fumarate. Now being tested for suitability for Humira.

You're welcome. It's handy to start your own thread when going onto a new treatment not only for others, but also for yourself as it will be something you can always refer back to. You can also refer your dermatologist to your thread, mine has read my thread about Stelara.

A few days ago i heard an interesting sound.
A friend of mine, who has also psoriasis, but does not use any medication because of the fact that she had a child some time ago, now is getting again more trouble with psoriasis.
So she went to her GP in order to discuss what to do. To her own opinion she has both psoriasis and PsA (luckily limited).
The GP is now redirecting her to the reumatologist. (As you can read in other posts, this is for me a very logical step if you have pain in your joints).

The interesting part is what the GP said to her. He said that if really the reumatologist would diagnose PsA, that she should have a start with fumarates. The reason for that was, he said, the fact that dutch medics/doctors are recently beginning to recognize the positive effects of fumarates.
So it seems there is a beginning.

Let's hope so Caroline as we both know the benefits of fumerates, it would be good if the dermatologists in the UK would offer them more readily rather than methotrexate which seems to be the first tablet treatment offered for psoriasis.
Fumerates if you can tolerate them, seem to have less side effects than other treatments

That last is already proven, only dermatologists are a stubborn race.

In the states, the dermatologist who aren't worried about someone elses bottom line, typically do not recommend MTX. I started with Enbrel.

Is there a big difference between fumaric acid tablets that are available from online retailers for the treatment of psoriasis at relatively low cost compared to Fumaderm or psorinovo
which are prescription only drugs.
