I am new to all of this. I have a possible diagnosis of psoriasis with a follow up appointment in a couple of weeks with a dermatologist. I do know that if I eat gluten, dairy, nightshade vegetables or sugar I get more spots, flaking and itching. I have eliminated all from my diet but still have mild spots, but no itching. Just trying to figure this all out.

Hello Sharonlgass1  Welcome to Psoriasis club.

It's a minefield out there with information on what works and what doesn't, but I think you have made the right decision to see a dermatologist.

One good thing about Psoriasis Club you will never meet any scammers, we all just people living with psoriasis sharing support and information.

I would suggest starting with these two boards:

Prescribed Treatments For Psoriasis

Natural Treatments For Psoriasis

And read some other members threads on something that may interest you.

Or just start new threads with your questions, we are not professionals but between our members there is a huge amount of information.

If you want to get to know some of our members better jump on in at [Group Specific]

Regards.

Fred.

Hi Sharon,

I assume your first name is Sharon.

Welcome to psoriasisclub.
Food certainly is an issue with psoriasis, as you have already found out.

But there are also good medications and some bad medications, we over here have an opinion about that.

Do look around and mingle in, that is the way psoriasisclub works.

Cheers,
Caroline.

Welcome Sharonlgass1!

I do believe what we eat affects our bodies in so many ways. However, I also believe we are all different and what works for some doesn't always work for others. It's good that you are seeing a dermatologist as they will offer you options and then you can make decisions as to what you want to do. There are a lot of treatments available and hopefully you'll find what works best for you. Smile

Hi Sharon and  Welcome to psoriasis club, as Fred has said this is a friendly club run by sufferers for sufferers and all members are happy to share their experiences and give honest opinions about what works and what doesn't for them,.
Their is a vast array of prescribed treatments for the condition but none are cures, all they can do is give you clearance and a bit of remission. But as Kat said not every treatment will work for everyone, and a dermatologist will get you on the right road.  But be wary of advertiser's (not here  NoNo ) that offer cures as there is no cure if there was I'm sure our members would be using it . There are a lot of scammers out there that can empty your purse selling expensive moisturiser .
So ask away here as there is a great wealth of knowledge in this forum and we strive to give good honest advice

Welcome Sharon. You will find more information on the site than any other place I know and it's all without any commercial interests just common sense from fellow sufferers who know what it's all about. Have a good look around and ask any questions I am sure that someone will be able to answer them. Again welcome. Welcome
