it is the pen type and my wifes a nurse so she does it. i put mine in the fridge for half hour to warm them up because we cant afford to put the heating on nowadays. 

id dont think i dare inject myself because it then makes heroin doable

it really does hurt. ive had 12 years of stelara and cosentyx with no real problems but this prick is bringing tears to my eyes. i have to bite my finger.

Yes ask for the prefilled syringe from your pharmacie (they may want a new prescription though) and ask you wife to inject it slowly. Failing that I think you can get a numbing spray but I've never tried it, maybe your wife knows more.

As for injecting heroin you need a vein for that and just under the skin won't work.

To minimise the sting you could also try applying an ice pack to the area for a couple of minutes prior to injecting.

Apologies Fred. I regularly inject vitamins into my leg. Sometimes it's hard, sometimes it's easy. Sometimes it bleeds, other times it doesn't. Sometime the needle goes close to a nerve.

No need to apologise Bill, I just shove mine in my belly. It's big enough so I can't really get it wrong.

Are you injecting vitamins into muscle, Bill?  My B-12 shots are supposed to be into the muscle.  The Humira just under the skin.  Muscle injections are just as you've described. 

Aljaxon, the pen injects quickly, but with a pre-filled syringe, you can administer slowly, even pause if it stings (while needle is still in, of course) and resume.  The slower the injection, the less pain.  If you don't like needles, you don't have to watch while your wonderful wife injects.  When I used the Humira pen, I loudly, involuntarily, hollered about the pain.
