Yes TL, a b12 (75mg per 100grams?) topical is available and there is published research on its use for psoriasis.

Thanks, Kat.

Thanks, Fred. I am thinking of it as something that might be done once or twice weekly in conjunction with an emollient, so more a booster for topical than a stand alone treatment, although with scalp, hands and feet, stand alone use would be less messy. Agree, the critical questions are "How much?" and "How often?".

Thanks, John. I am getting excellent control with DMF, so the vitamins probably have an easier task in my case.

Cheers

Interesting trial Bill, it will be interesting to see how well it goes.

Personally I can't seeing it being the sort of treatment many would go for as having to inject each spot of psoriasis is going to take a long time, and you still don't know how much you need for each spot and how long it will last.  But that is just my opinion, and I do wish you well with it.

Fred.

Another thought, TL. You may be able to get some liquid b12 and rub it into the plaques with some dimethyl sulphoxide.

Andy,

I have never found Fred as being anything other than kind, decent and fun. If ever you wish to experience a site run by a pack of sadistic, perverted bastards, then try Inspire.

Cheers

Thank you for those kind words Bill. But don't worry about Grizzly, it's just a bit of banter that we often have together. Usually it's kept to the [Group Specific] board but he forgot his place and I will be putting him on toilet cleaning duties for the rest of the month.  Wink

Back on track. How deep do you go ? I'm wondering if different depths may be worth monitoring.

I realise that, Fred. Smile

The needle is 7mm, and I would inject at about 4-5mm depth, basically to a point where I don't meet resistance injecting. Bear in mind that skin thickness varies.

Cheers

Good point about the skin thickness. I will be watching this thread just like you other one, it's not for me but you have been here a long time and we all know that you are genuine and a respected member of Psoriasis Club.

An update. I continue with a daily subcutaneous injection of a bit over 0.15mls b12/folate (500µg/15mg per ml). The plaque became a bit red after applying sunscreen last weekend, but seems to have improved throughout the week, with the plaque less red and scaly, thinner, and starting to break up. I will continue with daily injections for now.

Cheers

As it's summer ? in your part of the world could that be helping too. Would be interesting to see a comparison on a part that wasn't getting sunlight.

Just a thought.

Good point, Fred. Here are a couple of pics of my elbow taken a few weeks apart (latest one just now) which show that it is getting better without any extra treatment. I have been taking 4*430mg of DMF a week for a few weeks, so that could be helping as well. The stuff behind my ears and the spot on my neck remain the same to my knowledge. I will have a better idea in a few weeks, but I do feel that the injections are helping.
