Hi Caroline,

My lymphocyte count is quite stable, but it can drop if I take too much DMF. I have been taking 4*430mg a week since mid November and I suspect that has dropped the count by a bit over 0.2 as a consequence, hence my fatigue. I will get another blood test around January 10, so I would rather pause my dosing and be safe. I would think my lymphocyte count will be around 1 by then.

Australia's weather can be influenced by the Indian Ocean Dipole (the difference between ocean temperatures in the east and west of the Indian Ocean) from about April to November. This year it has been strongly positive (dry weather) following a dry Summer. Normally it breaks down by early December as the monsoon trough moves south, but that has not happened as yet. Hopefully things will start to change by the new year.

Cheers

Hi Bill,

I am always curious how this lymphocyte count varies over the day or during the time you have a cold, and yes, with me it also goes down when using DMF. In contrary to you I don’t feel any fatigue. I am quite stable concerning that, always have energy enough available and seldomly “tired”... I can be sleepy though, but I don’t consider that as being tired.

Surely it it to hope that the situation in Australia will change soon. We get all serious messages about the forest fires at your side.
If it changes will it start raining because of the monsoon too?

Cheers. Wave

As long as you feel well, Caroline. That is the main thing. The immune system has redundancies, so you are obviously compensating, and given the length of time you have been on DMF I would think if there were a risk to you it would have appeared by now.

In land of droughts and flooding rains I console myself with the fact that the weather changes. Some good rain in the forecast. I hope it happens.

Cheers

Hi Fred,

Dimethyl sulphoxide. It absorbs into the skin, so my hope is that it takes a bit of the b12 and folic acid with it. No idea whether it will work, hence the experiment.

Thank you Bill.

Sounds like a good plan, are there limits on the amount you can use. As in some topicals we are advised to use sparingly or only for a short period.

I'm using 99.99% purity DMSO. The 7mls I mixed (1ml b12/folic acid 6mls DMSO) should last three days or so. I make sure the areas are clean before application. The half life is about nine hours and it distributes evenly throughout the body. There are possible drug interactions, but not with anything I am taking. The lethal dose in mice (50%kill) is 10-20 grams per kilogram. Not sure what it is for guinea pigs.

Cheers

An interesting experiment Bill I will watch closely

You say you're taking a break from dmf until after the next blood test, do you know your lymphocytes are low? Or is it just a precautionary break ?

I just had my last blood results and they are very stable with lymphocytes at 1.2 I never suffer fatigue in fact I'm always active and need very little sleep to function

Good luck with the experiment
