I've noticed little dots of psoriasis spreading when I use steroids, even on areas where I don't apply it, though I can't be sure because it's usually pretty bad before I resort to steroids. I would assume rebound reactions should just occur in the area that I use it.  I'm seeing my dermatologist Thursday and might also try Protopic this time, unless he recommends a Vitamin A cream or Dovonex.

So, a few weeks on from making my introduction and I wanted to update you all. I did manage to see my GP and after a months wait I have an appointment at a skin clinic. Okay, my appointment isn't until the beginning of December but at least it's booked. I'm going to a local private skin clinic who are doing work for the NHS.

I use dovebet when I can't cope anymore but also use a goats milk body lotion and a scalp lotion, although good old betnavate scalp application and polytar shampoo have made an appearance.

My worst affected areas are still in folds and I could scratch the skin away. It's also now on my scalp, eyebrows and a couple of patches on my face. I have been very down for a few weeks, I stopped attending my slimming group and went off the rails eating and drinking everything in sight. I'm trying to get drag my sorry derriere back and leave the house.

It's hard though isn't it. Just wanted to update you. Love, Kath

Hello Kath, good to hear you are getting referred to a dermatologist they are much better suited to helping you.

It's up to you, but I would suggest starting a new thread about your journey as this one is introductions and may get missed by some readers.

And try not to let it get you down.

Fred.

If you know what treatment you will be on or you want to know more about a treatment I would suggest:
Prescribed Treatments For Psoriasis
Or
Psoriasis And Psoriatic Arthritis Topics

Also as a member with over 10 posts you have access to [Group Specific] if you prefer to only share with our members.

But the choice is yours and you can make as many threads as you wish.

It's good to know that you are on track to see a dermatologist ...that's the best thing you could do ...he can offer so much more than your GP I hope you will read up on the available treatments here in Prescribed Treatments For Psoriasis
There you can learn what's available so you can suggest or disagree with your dermatologist when you see them and tell them what you would like instead of creams and ointments ( they might not listen but if you seem to know what you're talking about they might not try to fob you off ) I would look at the systemic treatments as you won't get a biological treatment yet ..

I'm sorry you have been feeling so down ....if you ever feel like that come onto the club there's usually someone to chat with in the chatting thread here [Group Specific] we will always kick your derrière out of the doldrums  Thumb

Good to hear you have an appointment for a Dermatologist and to be honest December isn't that far away. I have heard of people having to wait 6 months or more to see one.

I would strongly recommend you do your research and take some notes of how you think your treatment should proceed. And as I tell everybody, if you can, take somebody with you into the appointment. They seem to pay a little more attention to you if there is somebody with you and having the other party is good for remembering those details you may have missed.

Good luck with it Thumb
