That certainly helps... Smile

A quick update.

I say my derm yesterday for a regular check up. I told her that my P hasn't changed and has gotten slightly worse, though I am still on a very low dose. My bloods are fine 5.1 lymphocyte count so she said to keep my uber slow increase going.

So here is the plan she made for me (morning, midday, evening):

1 - 1 - 2 for two weeks
2 - 1 - 2 for two weeks
2 - 2 - 2 for two weeks

These are still the initial tablets so the build up is very slow. Has anyone had a build up this slow before?

Remember that your dermatologist might have a different opinion about the severity of your disease.

Cheers,

No I haven't heard of such a slow build up. It's certainly not the recommended build up as advised by the manufacturer. You will be unlikely to see a change in your psoriasis at such a slow build up . Each initial tablet is a quarter of the strength of a full strength one so in six weeks time it will be like taking one and a half full strength tablets a day
Fumaderm is a slow working drug anyway. but at this rate of increase it will be awfully slow in my opinion .

I think also you may have been given another blood value possibly as they reading of 5.1 doesn't seem right for lymphocytes possibly its leukocyte count

Good luck I hope you soon start seeing an improvement
Jim

Hi - not sure if this is any help or support .....I've been on Fumaderm since Nov 16 ....currently on 3x 120mg tablet/day ......saw an improvement ...then dropped back ......but looking back over the last months there has been an improvement .....some anger has left the P........my wife has said there is an improvement .....so maybe I'm expecting a quick fix "silver bullet " fix .......my Derm said it could take a year..........so I'm on the road and confidently  in the hands of my Derm

Jim makes a good point about the cell count. 5.1 sounds like a white cell count. Did you get a specific lymphocyte count?

Cheers,

Bill

We were talking about white cells and lymphocyte count, so she couldcould have given me the white cell count actually. What figure should I be looking for?

I have to have my bloods taken every 4 weeks which will be checked, but I don't see her again until April. I don't mind a slow build up as long as it works

Hi I'm confident it will work for you Thumb your lymphocyte count should be between 1 and 3
Mine at present are 1.21 which is good ..if it drops below 0.8 you can reduce the dose for a short while and they will bounce back up Thumb hope that helps

In this post of mine [Group Specific], is a table with some measurements of myself.
You can see that your number is more like the leukocyte count,
