I went private at the start of my treatment while I waited for the NHS, might be a few hundred pounds. I waited about 6 months and it was all worth it.

Good luck.

Hi Tom
I have nothing to say for drugs...
I do light therapy at home, bought the home light therapy system, so I do it at home every evening...
It helps.
I got very ugly rashes since the end of October almost everywhere of my body, now i am almost clean, for now just i have very pale pink spots on my legs (it took me a few months).
No drugs so far. Just a light therapy.

Hi Tom
I have recently arrived in Dubai and having hassles to get my Humira sent over. Could you advise on where i could get it over here in the UAE. BTW, it took me over a year to get it prescribed in the UK after I had tried all the other solutions the NHS offer.
Good luck.

Hi CDed and  Welcome to the forum I hope Tom has an answer for you,

I can't help myself but just dropped by to say Hi and hope you will find some interesting reading here while you wait for Tom to reply.

We have a great group of members who are happy to share their experiences so you could look through those, there is also a lively off topic section so feel free to enjoy and join in if you wish

I wish you luck on your quest for humira in Dubai

Hi CDed, welcome....

Its pretty simple in Dubai as it Normally private health cover provided by your employer (subject to what package you are on)

I was liable for 20% so its still a chunk of cash

Most people have to have a private health scheme there

I was seen by a doctor over there called Dr ***** and he works for Mediclinic, they have a number of hospitals. Garhood Al Quasais and Uptown Mirdif

He is excellent and I have no doubts you will get sorted

If you mention me and I have just relocated here he will know me! Super nice guy

Good Luck!!

On my own progress, I saw the "registrar" who was struggling to decide what to do with me and so the consultant came in

Apparently my Pasi score is not a 10 so Biologics cannot be funded and have to go back in 3 weeks having stopped all medications to try to get my Pasi score higher....ie let my skin get worse as such

I will let you all know the score....haha

Tomc

*Edit by Fred mention of doctor by name removed.

Tomc I have made an edit to your post as we don't allow the mention of doctors by name, I'm happy to leave the hospital but it could cause us legal problems if we mention doctors by name.

I suggest if you want CDZed to get the name, you both need to make 5 posts so you can talk via the PM system.

Fred.
