Hello
I am new to the group, I am looking for alternative medication for my psoriasis (its bad at this stage) .....  I have been in Dubai, where it was easy to get my treatment (Humera)
- being back in UK for 3 month it has gone bad, bad bad - without medication as there is a very long waiting process to get to a doctor here

I have been doing salt baths - not sure if it is doing better or aggravating it

Any help welcome please

Tom

Hello Tom Welcome to Psoriasis Club.

There are alternatives, but anything that is going to work will need a prescription.

You can get Humira in the UK but like you say getting an appointment could take a while.

Sorry not much help apart from saying keep pushing for an earlier appointment.

Regards.

Fred.

Hello Tom,

Welcome to Psoriasisclub.
Maybe someone from the UK can give a hint on how to get an appointment? .
Could you check on private insurance like BUPA perhaps?

Just thinking out loud.

Hi Tom I think fred has said it ...it does take time to get seen by any branch of medicine here, you could ask your GP to arrange for a private consultation with a dermatologist it may get you in the system a bit quicker as the private dermatologists tend to be the same guys that do the NHS work

There are lots of treatments but it's going to take time

Another alternative is to have a look through here at the natural approach of modifying your diet, it might give you some relief
You could read through Alan's thread How I Cured My Psoriasis By Diet

Welcome to the club  Welcome by the way

Welcome to the loony bin Tom.

You will find it a long wait I'm afraid, depending on your location (don't divulge).

There are a shortage of 200 dermatologists in the UK right now.

I was on humira but after a while, my P crept up with revenge.

Finger's crossed that you get to see a dermatologist ASAP mate and get treatment Thumb

It can take a while to see someone but if you are very bad then the GP could possibly put you forward as an emergency. Mind you, I've seen a derm as an 'emergency' and that took two weeks in itself..

Take my advice; I don't use it anyway.
