Remember that I take a hit of 800 mg raw, and provided I pre-dose with a couple of grams of cysteine the side effects are mild. Compare this with your effort of a six tablet hit (720 mg) that did not go so well. Sorry to go off topic, but I think that the pharmacology of DMF is still quite gray.

I am far from a chemist. But the developer of Psorinovo states that because of the slow release the intestines are way less irritated then by one immediate dose. During the slow release, the intestines more or less do not remark the DMF.
It is his words, i heard them from himself. But the effect certainly works, although there are still people who even cannot cope with the minor side effects of Psorinovo, their intestines are too sensitive.

Sorry to be off topic also SVP. Smile

If slow release is the answer, they why can I reduce the GI upset by pre-dosing with cysteine? My guess is that the GI upset results from a GSH depletion. Slow release means that you have a larger area of gut absorbing the DMF, but I think that you sacrifice efficacy by this approach. It is all speculation until someone does the research.

Cheers,

Bill

Hi Bill
Thanks for your reply.

i have not started any treatment yet, just continue reading about the options...
Side effects of oral meds  look to me as very heavy thing to deal with.
Is there any you can recommend? I visit derma clinic tomorrow, to get my "life sentence" Wall

Well svp, we from the DMF gang would suggest DMF of course, despite the side effects, mainly because these side effects are not toxic for your body.
Only Fumaderm contains a small toxic element, but you could start with that. If indeed Almiral comes shortly with LAS41008, then you could perhaps switch. See also LAS41008 (DMF) effective in the treatment of psoriasis

Hi SVP
Try not to think if it as a life sentence, more a chemical leg up  Thumb . There will be something out there for you.

Hi everyone!
Here is my update: no oral medication was prescribed.
Only photo-therapy, some cream again - but i don't know how to deal with it  - too much of my skin is affected, so 60 mg - for  a week or so? I don't understand...My insurance may not approve a weekly refill (need to talk to a pharmacy, not sure yet..)
It stopped to be that much aggressive as it was in the first few days three weeks ago, but even the doc was impressed by the size of the area on me  of being affected...
Going to this clinic for the photo therapy 3 times a week as doc prescribed is not possible - they are located on the very busy street and all streets around, and they provide sun lights from 3pm -8pm, no way i can do it without loosing my job or spending 4-5  hours in traffic after 5pm..(Even without traffic at 10 am it took me 45 mins...)
Sorry for too many details. :(
I wanted to ask you - does any of you use home psoriasis UV system?

Thank you Wall
