Got another Cold sore. I've noticed I seem to be getting a lot more than usual. Where I used to get 1 a year if that sometimes, it's feeling one per month at the moment.

Oral herpes is on the uncommon list (around 1 in 10 )of possible side effects so I will keep a note.

That’s unfortunate Fred the one thing that’s worked wonders for the arthritis has caused this to break out, hopefully it’s not bad enough to pull you off cosentyx and can be treated successfully

Eat some extra fruit Fred. I think vitamin C normally helps for this.

The Coconut Oil helps with cold sores I have found. But it's not good to keep getting so many.

I don't think the Vits are the problem Caroline I get plenty of vit C from our own fruit and veg. I have never had this many in succession and they seem to be coming more often.

I’ve just been reading and I’m sure you have read to be extremely careful not to spread this virus to other parts such as through open wounds (like your legs where the Psoriasis has broken the skin )
If you’re using coconut oil on your lips and legs, just take care not to cross contaminate ...

I feel like on big cold sore at the moment Jim, but yes you are right it's a best to try and avoid contamination.

Ok had a word with my dermatologist and she is going to move my appointment to November instead of January.

We're going for the next shot of Cosentyx as usual next week and she is sending me a prescription for another topical to try and get the psoriasis down, it does feel a little bit better today so hopefully it will help. We will then review it at my earlier appointment.  

There is one caveat I have to see my GP and get him to have a look at the cold sore just to make sure it's not too bad and there is nothing else going on. If he thinks it's "Live" (her words not mine and I think she means it's spreading and not healing) then I'm to send her a picture before taking the shot. If he says it's ok then I can continue.
