Hi I have been suffering on and off for some years now with psoriasis but it seems to have gotten worse of late so I am now trying fumaderm as nothing else has worked .I've tried for years to get this med from my doctors as I have heard that it has a very good success rate of clearing it . it's the worst it's ever been so I am praying this will work for me .I'm on day 3, week one just 1 pill a day and so far no side effects I think! .all tho was itching more than usual but it's passed . Reading the threads it seems the stronger the dose the more side effects? . Can anyone tell me how long till you see a real difference in the skin ?. I've decided to keep a note weekly of how it's all going . And I can honestly say if the cramps do come  I will at least know, thanks to this club that it seems to be something that passes and is bearable Smile

Hi Margomac and welcome  Welcome to the club I'm glad you have found us and I am one of the biggest supporters of Fumaderm, we have several members here using it and yes you are right that the side effects may well get bad but we will always be here to get you through any difficult patch with encouragement and advice for minimising any side effects you may get

I hope it works well for you and gives you relief it did its magic for me and apart from a few odd flares when I have reduced the dose to far I have been clear for The last 4 years

It does take time to work though it's not an instant fix, but when it starts to work it cleared fairly rapidly...
But I was just about on the top dose before I was clear,

Come back often and if you wish start a thread of your journey so you can keep track of the ups and downs

Enjoy the forum we are a very friendly group of sufferers who are happy to exchange ideas about our psoriasis  Thumb

And feel free to join us in the off topic section where it is my turn to buy the cakes  Big Grin

Welcome!

You've found a great supportive place here amongst friends. We have quite a few fumaderm users who will be willing to share their experiences.

I look forward to following your progress and hope you get relief soon.

Hi Margomac,

Welcome to psoriasisclub. Smile

One thing Jim did omit and that is to tell you when you could expect some effects. Logically because he doesn't know. Big Grin
It is really depending on the person AND is it a slow burner with everyone. I don't know exactly why this is so, then I would have to start guessing.
For me e.g. it took about 10 weeks before things started to change, but I have the arthritis version of psoriasis, that may be different. Then it took another 10 weeks to be fully functional (the plateau phase) and then I started to reduce my dose slightly and slowly until I started to feel something again, where I upped one again.
It may very wel be possible that with the skin variant the effects are visible in an earlier stage.

Have fun over here with the other members of the forum

Hello Margomac  Welcome to Psoriasis Club.

I see you have already met Caroline and Jim, between them they know a lot about Fumaderm (DMF)

You mentioned you are keeping a note on how it is going. You are welcome to start a thread in Prescribed Treatments For Psoriasis and update it as you go if you wish, it will give you something to look back on and may be of help to others too.

Regards.

Fred.

Hi Margomac,

It took me about three months to get a 90% improvement, but some spots hang about a long time. I only have a few old timers after over three years. The odd thing is that I get the occasional new spot, but these fade to nothing within a few weeks.

Good luck and dont hesitate to ask any questions or share any problems. If you get a good result you might even find that topicals will work again for you, allowing you to get a faster resolution from a combined therapy.

I have found the active agent in Fumaderm to be an excellent treatment for my psoriasis.

Cheers,

Bill
