Good afternoon everybody.. My visit to my doctor went well this morning. I'm not taking humira anymore and he said continue the pretnizone cycle . He prescribed me a compound cream to help with my itching and to help heal. He was very understanding and supportive , I told him I was scared of biological treatments now, so he said that we discuss oral treatments when I return in two weeks. So who on here has had exsperince with oral medication to treat psoriasis? How was it? Did it work? Any side effects?

Hi Bobby glad you have an understanding doctor, and he has stopped the Humira.

I wouldn't be hasty to give up on biological drugs , if one doesn't suit you the next probably will...
I'm  sure others will tell you their experiences

Oral tablets like otezla are very new although available in the US and you may be able to get it .
My tablet is not generally available in the United States so I won't bore you with that one

I've only ever tried Methotrexate and would never try it again

Some other members will start telling you about Fumderm (DMF) but I'm pretty sure you won't get it in the USA so have a look at these threads for the usual oral treatments that will be available to you.

Like Jim says, his treatment is not available in the US. At least not for psoriasis.

But e.g. Acetretin is available and both Kelly and Kat have good results on that one.

According to Fred I'd better not tell you about Fumaderm.

But the one thing Fred and I agree upon is.... Try to prevent methotrexate.

You can tell if you want it's your choice, I just don't see the point in telling people about something that is not available to them as it could give false hopes.

Yes, and the weird thing is that there has been a clinical trial of tecfidera where the working substance is exactly the same.... Burocrats  
In the same way you could also import Psorinovo.

now we are still discussing DMF.  

But fact is that although Humira does not work, it could very well be that Stelara would work. It targets another receptor.
