Thanks for that Caroline. Easier said than done to ignore the icky feeling for me. They say to eat when taking tablets but it's rather difficult to eat when you feel sick. However must force myself or change my regime. Might discuss with my specialist nurse tomorrow. Thanks again.

Hi Audrey,
I had pretty awful side effects to start with, mainly a sick feeling and occasionally some really bad headaches. Regularly I would skip doses, and I think Jim's suggestion of having your doses with plenty of food or fluid a very good idea. I did jump off at the deep end with three daily doses of 240 mg, and from my experience I have found larger doses taken less frequently to be more effective. I currently control my disease with an 800 mg dose taken once every four days, but note that I take the raw stuff and its effect may vary from the slow release form. I saw good results within about six weeks. Best wishes, Bill

Hi guys. I am now off the Fumaderm tablets. I phoned my dermatologist and she told me to step back a week but unfortunately i felt so ill i decided to come off it altogether and i am still having the ill effects now and thats almost a week after stopping. Fumaderm is obviously not for me. ?

Have you discussed the next step with the dermatologist yet? Please let us know how you are progressing and what treatment you try next .... I can't remember if you have ever been on the biological treatments.... If not then perhaps now is the time........ do update us as even the fact something isn't working will help others learn that there are no guarantees I wish you good health in this coming year and hope to hear again soon Jim

Thanks Jim. I have tried Methotrexate and the Fumaderm but I don't intend trying anything else for a while. I've had enough for a while.
Yeah happy new year to all you guys too. ?

I see you said to Jim: "I don't intend trying anything else for a while. I've had enough for a while." There is nothing wrong with that and sometimes it can be a good thing to get any past treatment out of your system and who knows it may be for the best, but all I will say is don't give up there are other options like the bio's and more are coming. If you do want to consider the Bio's this thread explains all about them: Biological Treatments For Psoriasis And like Jim said please do keep us updated as your input is of help to other's reading.

Is it really the fumarate, or is it the construction Of fumaderm. What I mean to say is that there is another option to use DMF. The option that it is slowly released into your intestines, that might be different. But I can imagine you being so ill now that you won't to have the courage to continue right now at this moment. So I can imagine that you take a break for a while. Perfectly fine. Caroline
