I'm so sorry to hear how hard you are having it right now.  It is frustrating.  Finding a magic bullet may not be possible (I've not found it yet either) however, I started Otezla a little over three months ago and finally this week I seem to see some changes.  Very slowly the patches are reducing or at least less angry.  I envy you your climate and hope you will try to take more advantage of it and bare your skin more.... Keep pushing your doctors for help.  Take care

Hey everyone some things have happened not for the better yet but i still have hope. My new pcp had me do a rack of testing and everything was ok except vitamin d defficiency and i went to see my new derma who said he thought otezla might help so i started on that and he reccomended i get a tbblood test so two weeks into the otezla i did the test and came up positive! This kinda freaked me out so I went and did a chest xray which they said was negative so meanwhile the otezla was making me feel crappy so i quit that and the pcp put me on 4 months of rifampin to get rid of the tb because they (the insurance company) said they might consider stelara which I wanted from the start if we could get rid of the tb. It turns my pee orange and thats ok but it also stains ur teeth orange which bleaching takes care of so far but 4 more months wasted with no progress. Im just wondering if that otezla didnt trigger this (latent tb) as they call it i had no symptoms of any kind and it seems kindof convenient that it puts my P medication on holdas far as the insurance company goes. I am hopeful we can get rid of the tb so we can get the ball rolling again. Has anyone tried changing thier diet seriously to see if that helps? Thats my next plan while im waiting is to take some items out of my diet since pretty much everything i like is supposed to be bad for P sufferers.

On the positive side you wont develop TB with your treatment. If it is any consolation I doubt that anyone here has treatment for psoriasis that goes to plan.

Cheers

I wonder, have you ever been in contact with TB as far as you know yourself? It is the problem of much Psoriasis medication that they lower the sensitivity of the immune system, and you certainly do not want to revive any TB bacteria.

The most advanced example of a diet has been describe by Alan in his thread How I Cured My Psoriasis By Diet.

I have been on Otezla now for over 5 months and although I'm maybe seeing a small reduction in the skin patches the biggest change is in my nails.  They have almost all come back and I can finally say I'm actually clipping real finger and toe nails again.  My skin is really good right now but two trips to the Dominican in the last month helped that more then anything.

I had never heard of TB being a side effect of Otezla?  Or Psoriasis for that matter.  My next specialist appointment is the end of April so I must remember to discuss with her.  It's soon going to be spring here with weather good enough to get into the garden and bare some skin to the sun's medicine and for that I am most happy.
