Day 8

Today started well, awake early with stomach ache and flushy face again. Time for 2 tablets today. I made sure and had breakfast and took it while eating. Probably about 2 hours later the flushing started with a vengeance! It's good to know that this is a side effect or I might have had a worse panic attack that what occurred! Flushing went away though and have just taken tablet 2 with my dinner, here's waiting for the effects.

Yes, it is weird those flushes. But also a bit fun. I have one right now also .
They will get lesser in time and you will get used to it. Nothing to worry about.

Day 10
I sure know I'm taking more tablets! After forgetting to take two yesterday, I am back on track today and noticed that two hours after my breakfast tablet, the pain in my stomach was intense. I have been advised to drink peppermint tea to help it, but without any I just let it ride. The flushing is worse first thing in the morning, but I can handle that and it does go away after about 10-15 minutes. The stomach pains last the longest and they are difficult to ignore, but I know why they happen and so I am trying to distract myself with work while they happen.

Nothing else really to say.....until the next time

It's a good thing knowing what's coming it helps deal with it ......and knowing it's not going to last too long makes it bearable .
I noticed with mine that the pains when they kicked in never got much worse and as time went on they actually got less now I rarely get one ...... So stick with it. It should get less as your body adapts to it.

If you haven't got pepermint tea ..... Just make sure you take plenty of fluid

Take a look at the posts of Bill. He takes pure DMF and does not have much problems in his stomach.
It is very important to take the medication with food, in the morning /evening. Don't take it right before going to bed but at dinner time, preferably with some yoghurt. Try to have it passed your stomach before you go to bed.

I do take the tablet with food and make sure and take it way before sleep, it's strange though as I don't get any symptoms untill the morning from my evening tablet.

But Cheryl,
As i hear what you are saying, then indeed these can't be stomach cramps. Then they are intestine cramps.
Difficult to do something about that. Mixing it as good as possible with food remains the best.

In my case, using Psorinovo, I don't have these problems because of the slow release of the Psorinovo. Probably it is not an option but you can discuss it with your derm and insurance.

off them in 2011.for me they were a life changer so as Jim said stick with them.

Hi Phil and thank you for jumping in and giving your view on taking Fumaderm . But firstly let me offer you a big welcome to the club...and hope to hear more of your experience..
And you are right Fumaderm is well worth sticking with as it is a life changer for the better
You say you stopped using it in 2011.....what are you using currently? And why did you stop?

Day 14

I am getting used to the painful stomach pains now and try to catch it with peppermint tea which seems to help loads. The flushing doesn't seem as bad either at present. I start with 3 tablets tomorrow so will have to come back and say if I notice any change in symptoms.

As far as the psoriasis is concerned, I know it's early days as yet, but it doesn't seem to be producing as much scaling, which in the harsh winter weather means it's not going to crack and be sore which is a bonus. As I have it bad on the tops of my hands these are prone to being sore winter time. I am looking forward to next summer when I might actually be able to be proud of my skin, something I haven't be able to do for years.
