Maybe not exactly like a beetroot, Caroline, but very noticeably red. I should post a couple of pictures. The tummy stuff is a little variable, sometimes barely noticeable, but often like being mildly hung over. I remain a big fan of the stuff, so obviously the benefits outweigh the risks for me.

Cheers

Hi Bill,

Yes, I recognise the tummy feeling. Mostly barely noticeable by me, sometimes inconvenient feeling, but I know that it belongs to it, so I ignore it.

Cheers,
Caroline

Another blood test on Friday and little has changed:

I have reduced my dose to 430mg, which I take two or three times a week. I works well and I have very little tummy upset with it. I have started taking 5mg folate daily as I read that it may be helpful, but I doubt that it will do a thing. Other than that only a mild cold a few weeks ago.

Cheers

This is one of those 'Nothing has changed ' that is good news.
Now you have been on it so long, basing it on the body saturation theory, have you thought of reducing further Bill?

Hi John,

I am all for taking less DMF. After Caroline's comment on lymphocyte count as an indicator of efficacy, I might use the count as well as the disease I can see and feel to determine the dosage. I have tried to use a topical treatment with occlusion as I find it too messy uncovered, but I am yet to find a band aid adhesive that I am not allergic to. I am also on the hunt for a supplement that might help me: I read recently that b vitamins can have mixed results with some conventional treatments, so I am testing that idea. Next blood test in three months.

Cheers

Good to read or your “nothing has changed” progress Bill.
Great that you keep experimenting a little. Next time when I will have my bloods checked I will also check my vit D level as my doc has suggested this.

Thank you, Caroline. 1000IU of D3 daily is enough. I have read of people taking 25000IU daily, claiming improvement of psoriasis and I cringe: The mum of a woman I work with suffered issues with calcipotriol used on her psoriasis, effectively D3 toxicity. Not that I'd think you'd ever go on a D3 bender, just a D in my bonnet, that's all.

Cheers
