Great idea reducing to see how low you can get without affecting the efficacy and and get the lymphocytes up

Were the lymphocyte readings in the last few months taken while on the reduced dose ? If so it shows some improvement over the previous readings of 0.9 and you are now in the normal range and have been for some time

Jim, I should have followed your advice and reduced the dose earlier, but I had more arthritis to control then. The 630mg doses were controlling the arthritis well over the past six weeks, unlike the last time I tried (January 2017), so I dropped the dose to 510mg a few weeks ago. I dosed this weekend (Friday and Sunday), but not last weekend as I had a cold. So far so good. On another note, were you anywhere near the cliff collapse?

I think he means that a lesser dose can do. I have heard that before from others here in the Netherlands.

Far less tummy upset with 500mg doses, but it still seems to keep the disease at bay. I guess I will find out whether the dose is sufficient in good time, but my belief is that dimethyl fumarate has gradually become more effective for me after over six and a half years of use.

I like to have a routine. The thought of getting the same effect from a lower dose makes me hopeful of a return of lymphocytes to a normal range. This will mean fewer blood tests and less wasted time and effort experimenting with supplements.

Indeed Bill, would be great if it keeps on working on a lower dose.

The person I know in the Netherlands, she is called Tineke, recently reduced her dose from 8x120 to 5x120, also because of lympho’s going too low.
The dermatologist, partly educated in DMF by Tineke herself, said that the fact that the lympho’s were going to low, was an indication that the dose was unnecessary high.
That fits the recent research that the lowering of the lymphos is an indication that the therapy is working and the change in eosinophils is a measure for possible intensity of the side effects. (As some people will not be able to cope with DMF).
