They have that pain scale number thing because they understand that pain is personal and can be felt differently so it's all based upon how bad the patient feels instead of a comparison to how another feels. To say "psoriasis isn't painful" is ridiculous. Scalp psoriasis for me was the most difficult as it itched like crazy, burned when washing hair even with just the water hitting it and was raw in places from where the skin shed (and scratching and brushing hair just made it even more painful) and even if there was no physical pain, there can be emotional pain when you're walking around looking like someone poured something white all over your shoulders and you're afraid you are leaving dead skin behind wherever you go. I remember perching ever so cautiously on the edge of my father-in-law's couch afraid to sit all the say back and leave my mark behind and I rarely visited people for that same reason. I definitely would NOT see that doctor again and glad to hear it's not your regular one!!!
