Re your question, I'm probably not much help but I had bad scalp psoriasis in the 80s and I had long hair. I remember it getting a lot thinner but I did pick at it a lot and I'm sure the tar shampoo made it thinner.
Would it be worth asking a hairdresser ?

Hmm, possibly if only I had a hairdresser.
I just get my daughter to give me a trim and I quit coloring my hair years ago due to the psoriasis as I felt chemicals were not going to help that out any. But I can get my daughter to ask her hairdresser when she goes or maybe go with her next time.
