Hi Fred, I’m fairly new to the club but thought I could chime in about my experience with Taltz. I have suffered from psoriasis for more than 20 years - it got so bad that I was constantly covered from head to toe and I would cry from embarrassment when going to the hairdresser. My dermatologist got me into a clinical trial with Taltz - I started last May and it’s changed my entire world.
I have to admit that those first two doses in my dermatoligist’s office were TORTURE! A technician was watching me so I decided to inject in my upper thigh. The first dose took me by complete surprise as I didn’t expect it to be that painful. I did the second one in my other thigh and just steeled myself for it to be over! I had a small red bump in both injection sites but they quickly dissipated.
Since then I have the doses delivered to my home and it’s become very routine. I take the dose out of the refrigerator about 30 minutes before administering - and through trial and error I have found that the best place to inject is in my lower belly a couple of inches from the belly button. It stings for a second but quickly goes away. Because the dose is now once a month I just alternate between the right and left side with very little reaction.
Sorry to hear that you’ve had a more difficult time - all I can say is that I’m now 100% clear so if you can experience the same results as mine it’s so well worth it!
Best of luck in your journey.
Sheryl
