You may have to prove you can't manage on some of the other oral treatments if you go nhs, just to do the box ticking excercise (NICE pathway) plus be worse than a score of 10. I don't know what reaction they will have to the fact you are successfully being treated on Stelara - perhaps they will just decide to have you continue.
I used to have private insurance (through employers) but it had an outpatient limit (which included the cost of drugs) of only about £1,500 a year and Stelara is approx £8,000 a year. So I was not able to use my insurance to get treatment. Medical insurance seems more geared toward having tests and surgery, not ongoing conditions.
