Being optimistic has kept me sane'ish all my life I think its always nice to see the positive side of life and always give people the benefit of the doubt.

Well, I also speed through life with a smile on my face (especially when i encounter chicken), but after the recent revelations of Snowdon, the idiotics of Cameron, Monsanto, joint strike fighters, the farmacies trying to patent everything and following what happens in this world (which is a lot more), I became a little less naive in believing everything they tell me.

Just had a phone chat with my dermatologist who has had some inconclusive answers from the makers of Fumaderm. we had a long discussion and agreed to keep on with the tablets and monitor my bloods more closely, and have a meeting in a couple of months to review the situation, if there are any significant changes she will phone me and negotiate the future.
Meantime I will act on Bills suggestion and Email Fumaderm for their slant on the subject.

Just had a letter from my dermatologist who has had a reply from Biogen the makers of Fumaderm they wrote and I quote
"In clinical trials with Fumaderm, patients with malignancies were excluded, thus no reliable study data regarding this topic is available.
The use of Fumaderm in patients with malignacies should be assessed with care. There is no evidence for an increased risk for malignancies under Fumaderm therapy. There are even studies with cell cultures and mouse models that show Fumaderm might be able to decrease the proliferation rate of tumor cells, induce apoptosis and inhibit metastatasis.*
However fumaric acid esters interact with the immunosystem and thus theoretically could also facilitate tumor growth"

They suggest as you all have that we keep an eye on blood levels and see what happens
My dermotologist suggests if I do have to stop I could go onto acetretin.
I am just confused and dont know if I should continue or not the answer seems ambiguous on the one hand it might inhibit the cancer then in the next sentence it could feed the growth

This is quite vague... fumaric acid esters repair part of your metabolism, of the energy cycle in your cells. (basically and simply said, because I am far from a doctor). It reduces inflammation, so inflammatory cells come to rest, I cannot sync this with the remark that it theoretically could facilitate tumor growth...
Water also interacts with your immunosystem, so theoretically this can also facilitate tumor growth....
I think the reaction of you dermatologist is more the fear of problems where he will be responsible for.

Do you sometimes feel a bit tiny? Do you have a long nose? Does your tail sometimes itch?
Than you have nothing to fear, because then you are a mouse, and tumor growth will go down.

But ... all things at its time and in a row.
I have heard before that dimethylfumarate may reduce cancer growth. Can't find it right now, been searching on the net. But if I find it I will let you know.

One other thing that struck me was that Biogen is the producer of Fumaderm. I did not know that.
Recently they found that dimethylfumarates work against the increase of MS and Crohn, again a reduction of inflammations.
Now Biogen is producing Tecfidera against MS, which is basically the same as Fumaderm... I wonder what the difference in price is between these two products.

The yearly cost of the MS version is 55k USD in the states...
