Hi Martin, welcome to psoriasis club. I have been on cosentyx since December 2016. I was very severe - almost total body coverage even unable to wear clothes and leave my bed at worst stage. Before I was put on cosentyx I had been on topical creams for many years, then I had a really bad time and ended up damaged from Light treatment, put onto Acitretin then Methotrexate tablets of 17.5mg for 6 years. Meth cleared me but stopped working and I had the worst flare up of my life, and ended up on cosentyx after attending a special case clinic of several local dermatologists. After 2 months I started to clear and after 3-4 months almost totally clear apart from a few stubborn areas which I manage with dovovet and epiderm. There will be one that will work ..... I look forward to hearing what the dermatologist gives you when you return Jim

I'm glad you have got something even if it is Methotrexate, it's a drug that's widely used and as I think we all warned you, it's one of the drugs that you have to try as it's part of the protocol ...but it could very well work for you....it worked for me ....but I just couldn't tolerate it.....many on here use it and it works for them without any problems(Wed-14-06-2017, 17:08 PM)martin222 Wrote:(Wed-14-06-2017, 11:22 AM)jiml Wrote:(Wed-14-06-2017, 09:52 AM)martin222 Wrote: well all my creams and lotions that cost me an arm and a leg didnt work, hospital tomorrow, hopefully they will give me something that works, For your dermatologist to suggest the reason for not giving you Cosentyx is for fear of it giving you cancer, is scandalous ....all drugs as you can read on here have to go through rigorous trials before they come to market..The only reason they won't give it is the price is so high and Methotrexate is so cheap, I wish you luck on the Methotrexate and hope you keep a record here if your progress Jim
