The record you have looks very reassuring, and there is nothing to stop you seeking a test sooner if you feel out of sorts, Jim. Keep it up. Thumb

8 August 2028

Went for my dermatology appointment yesterday had the usual problem of them running an hour late  Angry I despair at the ineptness of a system that punishes you if you are late for an appointment, but are totally nonplussed when you complain about their lateness. I have yet in recent years been to an appointment that was anywhere near on time. I can’t understand how a clinic that starts at 9am can be an hour behind by 12 there’s something seriously wrong with the appointment system.
Then to go to the pharmacy and have a further 30 minute wait .... to then be told that they only had 2 boxes of the pills and they would forward the rest to my doctors surgery for collection. So all in all a wasted two and a half hours counting the travelling and then to have to pay parking charge of £3 just adds to my frustration

All I wanted from the visit was a repeat prescription  Wall

Anyway rant over

Was in with the dermatologist under five minutes she asked if anything had changed I replied no
She asked if I would consider reducing the dose, I told her the 5 tablets a day was holding the Psoriasis away and controlling the Psoriatic arthritis , I told her every time I reduce the dose my fingers begin to get painful and plaques start appearing
So she wrote a prescription and I was finished

I won’t keep adding to my blood table here but record that my lymphocytes were at 1.35  good and where they should be
I’m still on 3 tablets with breakfast and two with my evening meal
My skin is clear and no aches and pains

I have made the best of the summer and been in the sea as much as possible enjoying a clear skin and good weather

Hi Jim,

Sorry to hear about the timewaster spirits having their wicked way with you, but... good to hear you're doing so well on the Fumaderm for both psoriasis and PA.

I'll save you a special seat in the bar, so you can have a good long rant. Free cocktails for everybody who you distribute earplugs to =]

At least you are keeping stable Jim.

As for appointments running late. That sometimes happens to me, but I don't mind as my dermatologist will always have time for me if I want to talk longer with her. I think it's important for a doctor to take time with their patient and not just say "You Time Is Up"

So if you have 4 people before you and those 4 need an extra 10 minutes for their appointment then you are going to be 40 minuets late going in for yours. On the other hand I have sometimes worked quick with my dermatologist to help her make up some time.

I don't know how often you go, but for me an hours wait twice a year is no big deal as long as I'm getting my treatment.

So next time bite your lip and think that there could be someone in front of you in need of a little extra time. It's a free service so we have to accept there may be some annoying moments on our occasional visit. Tongue

I would agree that there’s need to talk and not to rush an appointment, and if it happened occasionally I would accept it ..... but it’s everytime so no I won’t bite my lip and accept it, it’s not free it’s paid for by my taxes for over 50 years.... if 10 minutes isn’t long enough for an average appointment then allow 15 minutes
I go to see my dermatologist every three months and it’s frustrating to constantly be 45 minutes to an hour delayed each time,  a ten or fifteen minute delay would be acceptable ... so sorry fred I can’t agree that we should accept without complaint the obvious lack of organisational skills

Thanks for moving my post Thumb

No need to apologise it's your appointment.

Just a thought. Could you ask for the first appointment?
