Hi all.

So obviously steroid creams are a no no for that area so what is best to use to clear up psoriasis down there. Notice I am getting a bit on the underside of my penis, towards the scrotum (sorry for the graphic description). Its not at all flakey or raised, it just looks a bit red.

Seeing as nothing seems to have much of an affect on the psoriasis on other areas of my body except steroids-based creams, but you can't use them here, I'm a bit worried

Thanks!

No problem with graphic descriptions regarding psoriasis. We all have body parts and we can all be effected in different parts of our bodies so don't worry about talking about it here.

Have you tried Dovonex? It's not steroid based so could be used on the genital area. *Confirm this with your GP or Dermatologist first though.

Another option and my preferred one is Coconut oil. It's a great natural moisturiser and you can use as much as you like, I would recommend twice a day especially after your bath/shower. *Be careful if you use condoms though as coconut oil can make latex weak.

You can read more about coconut oil here: Coconut Oil

I'm in agreement with Fred dovonex might be the way to go as its vitamin derived without steroids in it, although your dermatologist may prescribe you a weaker hydrocortisone cream but it is a delicate area and you do need to be careful whatever you use

I have occasional psoriasis on my penis. However, it has never been a major issue. Probably the only reason I knew it was psoriasis is that I had it elsewhere and it was just some reddening. I would follow what Fred says, I am not up on which creams are steroidal etc but also speak to your derm or get a consultation.

If it is bothering you significantly make sure they know as it is very personal. Psoriasis in general let alone on your privates.

The other thing is try not to worry too much about it! Stress will not help.
