In the dumps at the moment.I cannot believe this has happened to me in my 70s.i could cheerfully cut my head off.My scalp is giving me so much trouble. The Xamiol the Dr prescribed has made my head worse i have short fair hair and you would think i had been scalded. So now i have decided to stop all the treatment and see what happens. Also stopped the Dovobet on my body. The horrible red patches are sprouting up like mushrooms in the dark.Oh woe is me what a winge i am in fact family are calling me grumpy gertie

Some treatments can make psoriasis worse. I don't much about shampoos myself. I will move this to Psoriasis topics, it will get noticed better there.

On a side not, be careful with Dovobet. have a look at this thread: Dovobet And Dovonex (What's the difference ?)

Regards.

Fred.

See if you can get psoriasin body wash and shampoo. It really helps me if I let it soak a few minutes a day before rinsing. It is cheap and sold everywhere here in the states.

Hello,

My mother got psoriasis when she had small go around with breast cancer at 73, then it went away.

I use neutrogena T gel tar shampoo, and I add conditoner to it.

Never had psoriasis attack my face. The whole experience is rather humbling; and at times frustrating to look after. When I do not eat - it goes away. I drink shakes; was on a soft diet, pre and post jaw surgery.

So, not fond of the fasting thing.

The thing I like about this site most is -that you are not alone.

I also don't get on with the shampoo's that I have been given, so I gave up on them.
I now use a bodywash shower gel that I can also use on my head, and I find that it helps, this is prescribed, initially by the hospital, then by my doctor on repeat prescription.
Dovobet was also a problem for me, so I refused to use it again.
I now use Silkis, which, when used daily can be quite beneficial, without being a steroid based cream.
Can't hurt to ask!!!!
I find that using this regularly, it reduces the scaling quite well, and can be combined with a good moisturiser.
Give it some thought, it has had some success with me, before I went onto the MTX.
Hope this helps,
Regards,
Micky.

The face spots are hard to deal with but I think I am more stressed over my hands being covered right now.Big sausage fingers with red and white spots all over them get noticed more......and it hurts! Of course right now I look like I have chicken pox,but can hide most of it.

Some days this disease really suks!

Keep your head up babe, and keep positive, as the more you worry and get stressed about it, the less effective the treatment will be.
Be positive, I know it is hard sometimes, but try to look on the good side, at least we are alive and fighting this a**hole of a condition.
Soon I will win the lottery, and take all of us on a great holiday, so we can be treated by UVA & UVB naturally.
I have already booked the Dominican Republic for 2 weeks next June, I call it, natural treatment, and I'm looking forward to it.
Keep your head up darling, we are only human after all.
Best wishes
Micky
