I have a bad flare up after stopping Simponi (too much skin cancer to manage). I am sooooooo fatigued and wonder if that is caused by the flare up or the general state of the world.

Do others experience exhaustion with a flare up?

Hi JF,  interesting question.  I've always thought it was the other way around I get a flare up when I'm run down and fatigued.

Interesting. Not something I have thought about but I do have issues with fatigue although I can't recall if that was worse during a flare up or not.

If your body is busy making too many skin cells, creating / fighting inflammation, generally trying to sort itself out I think it takes more energy. It could also be disturbing your sleep even if you’re not particularly aware, it all points towards needing more rest and general fatigue.

Yes I have noticed an increase in fatigue with a flare up especially if it's psoriatic arthritis related.

There was a small study here that suggests Almost 50% of psoriasis patients suffer with fatigue

On the other side is me, I don't have any feeling of fatigue at all.
Can't remember it from the past also, when my PsA was more serious. It is stable for a long time now.

I am always tired but some days are better than others.

Try vitamin B12 or ask your GP to check your B12 levels

Kat, good idea. I take complex B but don’t know if the levels are right.

My GP also has me on 3 monthly B12 shots since I complained of fatigue and he discovered my levels were through the floor

It is said to be careful for Hashimoto’s disease, when you have very low B12. Good you take the shots.
I have started to take pills, as mine were somewhat too low.
