The small patchy area didn't seem to change for most of that year.  I don't recall my skin causing noticeable problems until January 2021.  Once the psoriasis became active, drinking alcohol made the patches flame red and itch more.

Since starting the Methotrexate, I'm limiting the alcohol consumption.  During the past month, I've had only one whole glass of wine on one day and about 2 to 3 ounces of wine the next day (as it was a delicious Chardonnay).  I also had a small serving of an Italian Sambuca.  I can't find Ouzo at any of the stores up here and need an anise flavored liquor for a biscotti recipe so had to try the Sambuca.

If I weren't worried about my dear liver on the Methotrexate, I would surely enjoy that Sambuca and return to the bourbon, too, once in a while, itching be damned.

About sleep . . . I've found that avoiding alcohol and having minimal sugar during the day, gives better sleep.
I would be very very careful drinking alcohol while on MTX. My Dermy has a very strict zero alcohol policy while on the stuff. It can do some serious damage to your liver.
Although I do t drink much I hated not being able to have the odd drink.

I am determined to keep to my strict standards regarding alcohol consumption and I will not be drinking anymore than the odd bottle or two per week of gin, the odd bottle of wine and all other drinks , like port will be cut back considerably. Cool

Is it true you soak your false teeth in a glass of Gin ?

No it's not, what a waste of a good drink, no I soak them in merlot.

I asked for that one  Five

Be very very careful taking MTX and alcohol at the same time, any amount of alcohol. All the time I was on MTX I was extremely careful not to mix the two. There was two of us who started the MTX around the same time and it was just before I went on to the injection method the other guy was drinking as well and it caused both liver and kidney damage. Not worth the risk.

I rarely drink....especially since I had liver damage due to azathioprine.  I was never a big drinker

I had one drink on January 1st 2021 and one in 2022 that contained less than an ounce of some Japanese or Chinese alcohol (over 50%) mixed with 7up

You might have added "I don't care" and "It wont stop me".

You could use the "Don't know option" Bill. I can't give too many choices. Tongue
