Your intro was perfect. The great part about here is you can share as much or as little as you want.
There's lots of info and lots of support here with members willing to answer what they can or just have a chat with people who get it. Again, welcome!

You are welcome, it's the people like you that make it what it is though.

Welcome, Mike!
I'm glad you finally have a diagnosis but sorry for the maddening itching and pain you've experienced. It's frustrating to hear a doctor say this is due to habits, such as smoking or hygiene. That sounds dismissive. Finally, though, you have some initial treatment that is helping your skin and joint pain. I hope you can get a good dermatologist for your care. The information on this forum will make you one of the best prepared patients.
I was diagnosed this year, also, and the club has helped me in countless ways since I joined in late August. You found a good forum with useful information and wonderful members.

Hi Mike

to the psoriasis club
I agree with John....get a dermatologist asap! Your GP definitely not qualified to help if he or she is saying it's due to smoking and hygiene.
Hope you find the information on the forum useful and members friendly

Hi KatT and thanks for the warm welcome to the club! Definitely on the list of things to do is to get a dermatologist. How long I have to wait for one might be long, but definitely be better in the long term.

Hi Mike,
Your GP should not be trying to manage you if your psoriasis is moderate to severe and you have arthritis. There is quite an arsenal of drugs available on the PBS for your condition, but you can only access it via specialist medical care.
Cheers
