Ilumetri for psoriatic arthritis Fred's journey

Note for reference: This past few days I've been thinking the psoriatic arthritis is flaring up, the weather is good so it's not that so I checked to see when my next shot is. I thought it was still another few weeks away, but it's this coming Saturday 9 July.

I remember this happening with Stelara (I called it the stelera tail-off) I think this is the problem with treatments on 12 weeks between shots and I'm now getting Ilumetri tail-off. I will see how it goes and mention it at my next appointment.

that's a shame Fred let's hope your jab on the 9th will get you back on track and maybe the dermatologist will reduce the time between shots to 10 weeks

Yes Fred hopefully it's a one off, do they drop it to 10 weeks on Ilumetri . My 10 weeks Stelara is still working.

I must say that me also I have a bit of a flare up in my feet and my pointing finger. So it still might be the result of the Full Moon.

I think it will kick in again, too early to try 10 weeks though.

They are not keen on trying 10 weeks with this one yet as I started straight off on the double dose.

No the full moon has gone and it got better after that.

But I'm not bothered by it for now and just keeping notes for the future so I have something to look back on.

Since your next dose was coming up sooner than expected, didn't that mean it makes sense that your body was starting to "need" it? If you still had a few weeks to go then I'd be worried that it was starting to fail.

But, I didn't sleep well last night so I may have read it all wrong. And we all know that science and me don't get along.

Anyway, hope the flare up is under control soon.

Since your next dose was coming up sooner than expected, didn't that mean it makes sense that your body was starting to "need" it? 

Yep it does make sense, I'm just keeping notes for future reference.

No it's not the humidity, though that does effect me when it is bad.

The trouble with the tail-off is I tend to notice it more with the treatments that are spread out between shots. 4 weeks (Cosentyx) didn't notice it much, 8 weeks (Tremfya) noticed it a bit more, 12 weeks (Stelara) noticed it a lot. So as this is 12 weeks I may have to start planning what I will be able to do after around week 10 work wise.

Are there blood tests to see how much Ilumetri is in your system?

Oh that’s interesting, that makes sense that the effects could tail off noticeably when there’s a large gap. I wonder why that wouldn’t prompt them to bring the doses closer together?
I do think that with a bigger gap you get more time between side effects..

They won't bring the dose forward yet TL as I'm trialling the double dose from day one.
