Just remember it's a chain.  You will be disappointed if you usually go to privately owned specialty coffee shop.  Buuuut their Iced Cappuccinos are awesome  Smile

No Tim Hortons near me. The closest is WAY north. Looks like most are near the Canadian border.

I was curious this morning.  How did this coffee chain come to be?  Who is/was Tim Horton?

Tim Horton, National Hockey League Legend, opened the first store in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada in 1964.  A cup of coffee cost $0.25.  A dozen doughnuts cost $0.69.

He partnered with Ron Joyce in 1967.  In 1974, Tim Horton died in a car crash, and Ron Joyce took full control of the brand and also created Tim Horton Children's Foundation.  KatT's Iced Capp was introduced in 1999.

A hockey player legend, really?  Yes.  Tim Horton was born in 1930.  Playing for the Toronto Maple Leafs, his team won the Stanely Cup (the award for winning the National Championships--USA & Canadian teams are together in this North American Natonal Hockey League) in the 1961-1962, 1962-1963, 1963-1964, and 1966-1967 seasons.  He is one of the 100 Greatest Players in National Hockey League History.

My sources were Tim Hortons, National Hockey League, and CTV News websites.  Smile

That's very interesting FW, I loved the iced capp with a donut when I was in Canada. I was surprised about the large size of the food portions when we went out for a meal, they seemed to be much bigger than the ones in UK.

Correct FW!  He was a famous hockey player.

Kat, I agree, they are mostly in the north.  Since I am addicted to Iced Cappuccinos, I was sooooo happy when I went to Syracuse to take a flight (was cheaper that leaving from Ottawa Canada) and I spotted a Timmies  Big Grin

And Dave, have you been to the US?  US portions, maybe not Timmies or other big international chains who have the same size portions everywhere, tend to be a lot bigger in some places

How are you doing, KatT?  What's been happening with doctor appointments, blood tests?  You have been soldiering on regardless of pain for so long, that I think it would be a different thing to begin paying closer attention to pain, now.  Are the communications still going well with the new doctor?  Thinking of you.   Kiss

I am doing very well.  Smile

Currently treating a pinched nerve in the neck/shoulder area that caused pain shooting in my right arm all the way down to my fingers since June 22nd....getting better with naproxen and tylenol 3  Thumb

Next appointment with my rheumatologist in 5 months. And did not need to contact her yet for an emergency but knowing I can do so any time is a relief.

Still need to go for blood tests but can't at the moment....extremely busy at work for the past two months, doing lots of overtime and it will get worse over the summer and fall  Confused

Supposed to go on holidays in two weeks (if I can)....will go for blood tests then.

Getting more sleep since I got a prescription for sleeping aids (teva trazodone) which helps a lot!  Now, instead of sleeping an average of 4 hours sleep per night in a week, I get 8.....huge improvement!  Having more sleep helps with energy, mood, pain endurance.  Still feel tired most of the time but less than before.  I doubt this will go away unless lupus goes away.  Stopped taking dilaudid (wasn't taking them on a daily basis but was starting to take more than usual which I didn't like).  Another improvement as they can be addictive.  Still have a prescription in case of extreme pain but don't need it at all at the moment.

Thank you for asking  Kiss

Clap That were promising words where you started with.

Your description shows that you are very very busy, but are finding relief in better sleep. Still annoying that you keep being tired.
So do go for your vacation and in the vacation don’t think about work, only about us.. Whistle

I hope you do get that holiday, even if it means Fred's airing out his copyu thong ( Scare ).

I'm glad you are doing well.  You sound so busy.  But sleeping enough makes a world of difference in a day's activities and happiness.  So glad you have good sleep.

Does your work have "Sick Time" or hours you could use for doctor appointments and blood draws?  It would be nicer to have the blood draw on a work day than on a holiday.

Wise Caroline is right.  On holiday, don't think about work.  Do think about us.   Big Grin
