Hi Everyone,

So I have suffered with Psoriasis for around 5 years but my diagnosis was made 4 years ago (ish).

I have tried all of the recommended Creams and tablets such as Methotrexate, Cyclosporine, Apremilast and Acitretin.

Some of the above tablets worked a little, my main issue has pretty much been the side effects of the tablets, ranging from dark thoughts on the Apremilast to Nausea and sick feeling on the Methotrexate. (Bear in mind this is just my experience on the tablets and I am sure not everyone will have the same reaction).

I have recently started on Cosentyx and am on Week 3 of the weekly two 150mg injections (you have a weekly two injections for five weeks and then go monthly).

My skin has already started to clear up, Psoriasis fading massively, I take the medication on a Tuesday, yesterday (Wednesday) after my third dosage I did fairly quickly start to have a sore throat, coldy like symptoms and a runny nose.

I have to say I felt similarly this morning but this afternoon after plenty of water and food I feel loads better. I am happy to keep everyone posted on my progress as my treatment progresses. I am remaining positive this works for me and am keeping my fingers crossed,

Alex

Hello Alex  Welcome to Psoriasis Club.

The Bio's can sometimes take a little while to settle in, but Cosentyx is one of the easiest in my opinion and probably the best.

I hope you don't mind but I changed your thread subject as we have a lot of Cosentyx threads and it may not have got spotted in introductions.

Don't hesitate to start another thread in Prescribed Treatments For Psoriasis about you Cosentyx journey if you wish.

You will find a friendly bunch, so just dive on in.

Regards.

Fred.

Hi Alex and welcome to the club, I'm glad you found your way here and it looks a very similar story as many of us sufferers have had with creams and lotions and for me my first oral was methotrexate and I hated it with a passion never felt so nauseous in my life ...but my next oral was fumaderm which I'm still on and have now been clear for the last 7 years
It's good to see that you have got cosentyx it seems to be the best bio I have seen evidence of, and a fast worker, many of the members here are on it and I hope it gives you long term clearance and I for one will follow your journey on it with great interest
And the best thing is to start another thread in prescribed treatments as Fred has suggested where I'm sure it will get lots of interest
If you have any questions about posting or treatments just shout and the friendly bunch here will soon jump to your aid

Hi Alex welcome to the club. The bio that you are on is one of the best and I think that you can look forward to seeing great results. There is more information about psoriasis on here than any other place I know so have a good look around and ask any questions,we all have the damm thing so any answers will be from experience.

Hi Alex and welcome to the club, I have been on Cosentyx now for about 5 months and I'm clear for the first time in ages. I hope it works as well for you as it has for me. I look forward to seeing your progress.
