Hi Liezel and although it's not something I've heard of to do with psoriasis it could be any number of things, but it's good that the kidney function is good but Fluid retention is not uncommon but should be checked out by your doctor to rule out things like blood clots. But I would think it's caused by long periods standing
My best advice is first take breaks and walk or move your legs by walking on the spot  if your work involves standing all day.
Then when you can sit or lie down and elevate your feet to encourage the fluid to migrate back into your body for your kidneys to deal with.
Get rest with feet elevated
See your doctor if it doesn't go away

Hi Leizel and a warm welcome to our club Wave

The early stages of Psoriasis can be very overwhelming as you come to terms with the disease. Unfortunately in a lot of countries the Dermatology specialists nearly always go through the same regime of creams then UV before hitting the systemics and ultimately bios you having had to fail on one before going on to the next.

What I would advise is to do some research on various treatments and work out a rough plan on how you would like your treatment to progress as its your body, your disease and you should be entitled to point the doctor in the general direction of how you would like to be treated (this site is ideal as there is tons here and nobody has any ties to particular treatments - we are all genuine sufferers and Fred ensures there are never any miracle cures posted ). Just be aware that some lotions should only be used for a short period of time, normally a month as they have a nasty habit of thinning the skin.

Sorry I cant be any help with regard to the swelling of your legs, its not something I have come across before but one thing has come to mind. Has your Doctor had your Psoriasis confirmed by a biopsy? I only ask as my mother had cellulitis a couple of years ago in her legs and it looked awfully like my Psoriasis and she also suffered from intermittent swelling.

If you need any more advice please yell out somebody will be only too happy to help Thumb

Don't forget there is an active off topic are where you can let off some steam or chill out in the bar

Thank you for the kind words, it makes me feels less isolated.

I have another concern hoping anyone can offer some clarity or advice.
I'm also suffering from swelling of my legs and feet and ankles? Is this also normal? It comes and goes. I also suffer from hypertension but it's well controlled... had my kidneys checked everything ok.. doctor said it's as a result of the inflamation of the psoriasis?
It's not painful during the day.. but a little bit so at the end of the day..
It is summer here and very hot I also work with kids and I am on my feet the whole day? Wondering if anyone else are suffering from the same thing? And can offer some advise please..

Thanking everyone in advance.

I do have issues with swelling, but not related to psoriasis.  I find that if I'm going to be on my feet a lot, a good compression sock helps with that.  Although I've had some fitted for me by a doctor, I've found the ones you can buy online work just as well for me, plus I don't like them really snug.  I also have more issues in hot weather as well, but from what I understand that is normal.  I was diagnosed with primary lymphedema and for a time I had to wrap my legs every day from my toes to my thighs.  Thankfully I don't have to do that any longer!   There are a lot of reasons legs can swell, veinous insufficiency is a big reason for leg swelling, but your doctor would probably know if that was the cause.

I haven't heard of anyone having leg swelling as a result of inflammation due to psoriasis, but it does make sense so I hope you'll keep us updated.  If it's inflammation maybe he can recommend an anti inflammatory for you?  If it doesn't improve then I'd ask about that perhaps.  Hope you find something that relieves your achy legs  Smile

Editing to add... Also my doctor put me on a blood pressure medicine that also acted as a diuretic (for fluid retention) which seemed to help maybe a little. Okay, I don't really think it helped me all that much but it is something you could discuss with your doctor as well, or even adding just a diuretic if it's fluid retention, I only mentioned the blood pressure med as you mentioned you have hypertension.
