Humira V Stelara

Hello

So I was put on Fumaderm last January. Sadly it has stopped working and my psoriasis has come back with a Boom!

As a result the doctor is going to put me on a biologic, either Humira or Stelara. I have been asked to choose as they don't favour one over the other. 

I was just wondering if anyone could give me advice...

At the mo I am swayed towards Stelara as you only have to take it once every 3 months but would love to hear from someone on either drug!

As for your question: I would go for the Stelara. It has a better track record and like you say it is only one shot every three months.

I had a bad reaction to Humira so maybe I'm a bit biased, but evidence from our members posts in the past would suggest that Humira is not a good choice. Humira also has a different target to Stelara and what most would class as an older target.

Skip Humira. Most people only can be on it for less than a year and suffer all kinds of side effects, the users on this forum report that.
Of course there is the occasional person who does good on it, but they are scarce.
Most people tend to build anti-bodies against it.

Too bad Fumaderm stopped working. DMF does all the things a bio does, so you are one of the 30% it stopped working for, that is also scarce.

Shame the Fumaderm stopped working for you ......it's worked so well for me for nearly 7 years ....but it doesn't suit everyone ...I also think you are wise choosing stelara over humira and I hope it works well for you for many years

I have never used Humira , one of the few I missed but I have used Stelara for over 5 years and it's good. I was really bad and after 9 years on MTX it cleared me almost 99% .

Go for the Stelara it cleared my skin 99%. The Humira made my Psoriasis worse - but, it helped ease some pain with my Osteoarthritis.
