Stelara - Kat's journey

Looks like a great improvement Kat, my ears took the most time to get completely clear and even now I use Enstillar to keep them clear. Are you happy with the results in all other areas Kat if so I would tend to stick with the Stelara for the time being. I got some Cetreben which plus the Enstillar keeps it well under control.

My scalp area, particularly behind my ears and my ears have always been the worst for me. When I first started getting psoriasis, I had patches on my back, elbows, face and one tiny patch on my leg but those cleared up back when I did the Acitretin. I have had a small place on my back and a bit on my elbows since then but they were very minor and cleared up. So areas other than my ears and scalp seem to respond quickly to treatment it seems.

With November so close, I plan to just have my next Stelara injection and go from there. It gives me time to do research, think and talk to a couple of my other doctors to get their input. Particularly the Rheumatologist who is very up to date of course on psoriasis treatments and my primary more regarding what he thinks regarding stomach issues.

I do still have a topical which I'm going to start applying and see if it helps some. Originally the derm said I could use them together but my visit last month she told me I could stop with the topical and I didn't ask her last week (which was actually a follow up for something else, I just asked her if she thought the Stelara would eventually get me clear and she responded no and gave me other options)

Is the Enstillar the foam? I do think it would be easier to apply, or at least sounds like it would be!! I'm not sure what Cetreben is, I'll have to look that one up

Cetreben is a moisturizer Kat , Enstillar is the foam which is ice cold and is a bit greasy but I find it ok though I don't have to use a lot now.

Interesting read Fred, I see that you didn't find the Enstillar to be effective for you. I like the idea of it being a foam, not sure why it just sounds easier to apply and not as easy to run elsewhere.

And I think they're all greasy! lol or at least the couple I have used were.

It worked Kat, but no better than Diprosone Cream so I'm sticking with that for the odd occasion I need a little help. It is easy to apply once you get the hang of it (my first try was like crazy foam) but yes it is easier than say Dovobet, but it's still sticky, greasy and messy.

Diprosone Cream and any of the other creams don't have the same problems as the Gel type. Enstilar feels like you have applied a Gel once you rub it in.

I just find Creams easier and more pleasant to use.

Sorry for being awol, spent a lot of time last month out of town and have been catching up on things since then as December is always a busy time.

Saw the rheumatologist last week. He's on board for Cosentyz since I'm showing signs of psoriatic arthritis. He said he doesn't know much about Tremfya but he believes it to be less helpful for psoriatic arthritis and they don't prescribe it.

Still want to have a discussion with my primary doctor before making any changes.

Cosentyx is the best thing I have ever taken for psoriatic arthritis and at my last visit my dermatologist wrote in her report that it was in remission , so I can highly recommend it for that. I'm not however finding it so great for psoriasis, I think Stelara was better but having said that the psoriasis is low.

For me I really want relief from the psoriasis (so tired of itching) but I know I have to be concerned for the arthritis (I've had arthritis in my knees - osteo - for years but just starting having problems with hands and ankles which are pointing more towards psoriatic arthritis but I'm not certain honestly just going by what the doc says right now) Stelara seems to have stalled but I'm not getting worse so there is that!!
