On one of the dutch facebook groups is a guy who claims psorinovo caused him liver and kidney damage....He said the dr failed to do the bloodtests. I really doubt his story, but on the other hand I really can't think of reason why he would make it up...

Yes I think it's possible if the monitoring is not done properly and levels are allowed to drop without testing, but if tested regularly and noted early and the treatment either stopped or dose reduced the blood and liver and kidneys  should recover

It is Very doubtful, as this otherwise would be known by the doctors who prescribe Psorinovo. And there is just no interaction between DMF and liver or kidneys.
You should try to ask if other medication has been around, or specific circumstances.

I will check it out anyway if this would be possible with one of the doctors I know.
That can take some time as I am on holidays. Big Grin

On Skilarence.
  • It is definately not slow release.
  • It is only DMF, the other additions that are mentioned, are only fillers to make a decent pill.
  • It is stomach resistant.
  • Most of the written side effects, like no alcohol, is standard, so has not been researched, just to be on the safe side.
  • It will be released in The Netherlands probably around the 1st of January
  • Price ? I would not know.

Interesting ....I hope it doesn't mean the end for psorinovo. Confused

Me too, it would be quite a step backwards for the Dutch patients.

I suppose the fear is as Skilarence is going to be licenced, and Psorinovo is not . It will be hard to put an argument for using psorinovo ....as there is an alternative

Yes, and dermatologists have an attitude of thinking they know what is best for their patients despite the experiences of thousands of patients.

Hopefully, the insurance companies will step in. psorinovo will remain cheaper, and since the doctors have to prescribe the generic name and not the brand name, there might be a small loophole here...

It seems that Skilarence hit the market in the UK.
Price is around € 2.40 per pill

For Psorinovo that is about € 1.00 per pill

And Bill's pure form...... € 0.02 isn’t that right Bill? Except for the stomach resistance it is equal to Skilarence.

Interesting of DMF remains that it works for Psoriasis AND for Psoriatic Arthritis. It is an IL-23 AND IL-17 moderator (and more, but for P and PsA those are the most important ones).
