Jim is spot on. The first round of tests is typically at the 1 month mark sometimes at 3rd month. After that, it can be stretched out to 6 months. Folic acid just helps with aide effects and typically isn't beneficial under 15.

i think Methotrexate is effecting my sexual performance with erectional dysfunction.
a google search also proves my idea because other users also report this.
any of here having this effect during Methotrexate treatment?

Hi Fragil3 that's an unfortunate problem, and must be a great worry for you, it's not a problem I have suffered but can understand you needing to get it sorted out

I was on methotrexate for around a year, and went through a lot of the side effects.... but never had that problem. I see Fred has given you links to some interesting threads.
I agree it could be something else causing the dysfunction and you should get to your doctor to get it checked.

However if that seems awkward for you, perhaps reduce the methotrexate and see if that helps

hi, guys,
after three months of Methotrexate usage things are improving for me first time.
i am using an ointment also which my doc provide me.
Scales are gone.redness is gone.Only black or grey spots are left.Which i think will get better by time.
What do you guys think about black spots?

after reading from here, i changed my dietary habits.
I drop my sugar consumption and start eating turmeric powder daily.
am using coconut oil also for body and scalp.

Thanks for support guys .i know it is a lifetime battle, but I will fight with confidence and hope now.
i am started telling others about psoriasis which i never did before.
Not covering arms and legs in front of close relatives.

That's good to hear. Not only that you are doing well with Methotrexate but also that you are able to talk to others about it. You keep that positive attitude and you will find it helps a huge amount.

I'm not sure about the black or grey spots, but it could be pigment change. Some peoples skin never fully reverts back to it's original colour. I still have a few patches that have never fully recovered their colour, but I've also had some that have completely recovered and I can no longer tell exactly where they were.

I would think it's to do with your skin tone and it will take time for the spots to go back to their original colour, if they don't they are still better than psoriasis any day. But do keep an eye on them and you notice a change for the worse go and tell your doctor. Also take a photo now so you can compare in a few weeks.

i am here to report on erection problem i was facing after start taking Methotrexate 2.5mg.
after three months of taking Methotrexate, i only face erection dysfunction side effect from the medicine. Although it cleared my skin and now i am using just topical ointments and coconut oil massage to keep a control on psoriasis.
now from three months, i stopped taking Methotrexate and my erection is back.even i am feeling more lil more energetic.lol.
so if anybody is facing erection dysfunction during the Methotrexate use, then there is a chance you will get back your erection after stop taking the med.

Thanks for the information fragil3. It’s good to know that a worrying side effect like that reverts back to normal when you stop the methotrexate .   for me methotrexate didn’t have that effect it just made me feel ill and lethargic and as soon as I stopped the methotrexate my energy returned
