Thanks Fred for the Welcome.
Yes, I used Cosentyx for 8 months and it made my Psoriasis much worse. The Stelara did clear my Psoriasis 99% but, the Dermatologist stopped it after 18 months because of repeated courses of Antibiotics for Chest Infections in a 8 month period I had 5 Antibiotic courses. Wink

Oh that is a shame. I was on Stelara for just over 6 years, but it started to lose its efficacy for me and I'm now doing very well on Cosentyx.

It just goes to show how difficult it is to treat psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis, and what works for one may not work for another.

Could be worth asking about Taltz, it's similar to Cosentyx but may ot cause you the same problems. But good luck with Stelara it is a good treatment, I hope you don't get chest infections again.

Welcome Will20!

Those chest infections can be a pain, even more so if it means you have to stop medication. Hope you're better now!

Hi jim,
The Dermatologist put me on Cosentyx because I was at that time developing joint aches. It did nothing for the aches and/or the Psoriasis. (I had a MIR Scan for another Medical problem and it was revealed that I had Arthritis of the last 3 Lumbar Vertebrae).
I was referred to a Rheumatologist last January 2016 - have had X Rays, Bone Scans and loads of Blood tests - Rheumy thought it was Psoriatic Arthritis at first, then changed her mind and now thinks it could be Osteoarthritis? I am due to get an appointment to see her soon and after a year = hopefully will find out and have a diagnoses.

Hi Kat and Thanks for the Welcome  Wink
Touch wood I have managed so far to avoid all the 'Bugs' that have been going about recently.
My problem is that I have another Auto-Immune condition that makes me prone to catch "Bugs" and not so good at fighting them off and recovery is slow.
I have prioritised which condition comes first sometimes.

I hope after a year of tests they should have a good idea what your diagnosis is and hopefully it's something that the Stelara will help. And you will be able to stay on it this time  Thumb
