I concur with Dave and Jim. I think you have made the right decision. Wring out what you can from the Cosentyx.  Thumb

If Talz is similar, why do you think it may not be as effective as it could? Is it just because it is similar?

Thank you John. No it's because whenever I change I always think "What if" I know it's a negative thing, but having gone through failures before I hesitate to change. I was the same switching from Stelara to Cosentyx, but the psoriatic arthritis had go so bad again that I really didn't have a choice.

The psoriatic arthritis is great at the moment and the best it has ever been, I would hate to switch and find it wasn't working as well if you see what I mean. I do think it will work as good as all the evidence says it will and in some cases even better, but at the moment I feel so good that I think better the devil you know.

sounds like you opted for the best option for the moment, Fred. It will also be interesting for us to see how things go in the next 6 months. I hope you can enjoy lots of sunshine in the coming summer!

The il17s are similar to tnfs in terms of how long they last. Taltz is failing me for Psoriasis and Arthritis. If available, maybe try Enstilar or however it’s spelled.

That's a shame I thought Taltz was doing well for you. Do you mean Tremfya (guselkumab) ?

Nope- the steroids in a spray can. You can tuch up your Psoriasis like you can touch up your car.

All good options for you, Fred. I understand why you would stick with Cosentyx, but why the objection to Otezla? There are plenty of treatments that I would not touch, but for all I know they might work very well for me.

Thank you Bill.

Re Otezla:

#1 I don't like taking any oral treatments. I'll put up with a pounding headache rather take a paracetamol.

#2 If I did have to Otezla would be low on my list as it can cause Gastro problems and depression, so no thank you.

#3 As I said before a Bio has to do the job on it's own in my opinion. I don't see the point in taking such an expensive treatment that is supposed to do the job on it's own, and top it up with another psoriasis treatment.

A little bit of topical is ok if I get a flare up, but even then I'm not happy having to use two treatments.

My quest is to find an injection under the skin that keeps me free of both psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis, I'm getting there and there are still others waiting for me to try so you can keep your tablets.

Smile
