I think Matari made the observation that biosimilars might not be all that similar, and this is probably a good thing. Didn't a member get good control of p and psa with an il17 blocker?

Yes I think Matari got good results with Taltz but not Cosentyx. I remember him saying something about it being down to his weight. I had a similar problem with Stelara, so hopefully this will help.

Consentyx worked for the back but not the Psoriasis. Turns out I am to fat for the dose. They had a few studies that suggested that more would have been effective. Taltz, overall, has been better for the Psoriasis. I do have some issues with Taltz. It doesn’t seem to help inverse Psoriasis and I have had a few flares of plaque lately.

That's interesting, thank you Mata.

It was our thinking that it could be weight related and worth a try. I'm going to try it at 3 week intervals for 6 months and see how it goes.

Little update:

I've been taking the shot one week early for just over 9 weeks now and thought I would make a couple of notes for future reference.

#1 The psoriasis on the shins is still about the same coverage but less flaky, however I do have the odd tiny bit popping up on my back and armpits. I have checked my score and it has gone down from 9 to 6.

#2 The psoriatic arthritis is still doing very well, but I have noticed this past couple of weeks when it has been damp that my shoulders and fingers are a bit stiff in the morning. It soon passes once I get moving and my score for that can stay at 1. But I won't be saying close to zero this time due to the morning problem.

So far I would say it has helped a little going to 3 weeks between shots, but I don't see it lasting as it's just not clearing the psoriasis like it did when I first started.

Good it’s still working even if not as well as when you started
At least we have the summer coming which will hopefully help the cosentyx do it’s work

Ill see you in the Psoriasis Club bar later for a drink and chat

I am going to see the dermatologist next week but as the Stelara is still working I am reluctant to go to cosentyx even though it will be probably better for the PsA.

It's a hell of a lot better than Stelara for psoriatic arthritis Dave. And in your case I would go for it as you will be able to throw away the Tramadol, but it's your choice.

hi Fred,

in a way, 9 weeks is still early days to see if your new schedule will work, but it's interesting to see where it will go.
Good luck, fingers crossed and let's hope the spring will arrive soon and warm all our hearts =]

see you in the bar, I think I saw neon signs flashing miles away from the bar with "Fred's on his way to the bar!"
