Fred,

Same situation as I was in. Consentyx needs to have a weight base dose for Psoriasis. Maybe it's time to move onto Taltz.

Thank you Mata. They did mention Taltz as a backup plan last time we spoke, but is any good for psoriatic arthritis ? I know they are doing the tests and going for approval, but I don't recall anyone using it for psoriatic arthritis.

Edit: just found this: RE: Biologic Taltz I must search Psoriasis Club more often. Doh

A personal message from me to someone I know that is reading this thread from the outside.

Good evening, and thank you for reading and getting in touch.

Taltz also targets IL17a, might be worth a shot if you can't get the P under control.

Yes they are much the same thing, but Cosentyx has been the best thing ever for me regarding the psoriatic arthritis and I'm a little afraid of moving to something else just to help the psoriasis.

The problem is we are all different Maryam and psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis are so hard to treat. What works for one may not work for another, and even if it does work one day it can and probably will bite back.

It's Bio's or nothing for me, so yes Taltz is an option I am holding in reserve. I also have my eye on Tremfya and the other Bio's in the pipeline, but I will never take a step back and I doubt very much that I will go for any oral treatment.

Bio's are King and the future as far as I'm concerned, however the best one is still a long way off.

You should have something that also targets IL-23, as that probably is the most important Psoriasis interleukine.

That will mean going back to Stelara. I am thinking about it as the psoriatic arthritis is now almost gone, but it was never great for psoriatic arthritis and the psoriasis had started coming back. The only other IL-23 is Tremfya (guselkumab) but not available in France yet.

On a positive note, Hopefully the flare will subside and you won’t have to make a decision to change as cosentyx will cope with both

That's what I'm hoping Jim. I have decided not to spend much time on my feet as it splits the flakes on my shins over the weekend and continue with the Calamine Lotion. Yesterday was a bit better, today is looking much the same as yesterday. Come Monday I'm hoping to have reached a decision on if I will phone my dermatologist or not.

What ever decision you come to, it will be well thought through . It would be great if you can stick with the cosentyx. I know you hate Mtx but with a low dose it might be a way of keeping on cosentyx .... I always say “never say never”
