Hi All

Time for an update. I'm glad to report that I'm still clear after all this time - it's been about five and a half years since it all started and about four and a half years since I got on top of it.

I've been eating normally for the last four years and haven't had any symptoms during this time. The only downside to eating normally has been a slow steady weight gain, but to be fair, most of that is due to lockdown and not following my normal routine. Swimming and foreign travel have been off the menu for the last too many months.

So, I have resolved to slim back down and will cut out the alcohol and bread for the next few months until my belt stops straining at the buckle!

Hope everyone is well and that we can all return to normality as soon as possible.

Thumb

That's great Alan!

Lockdown caused buckle straining for a lot of people.  I think I gained close to 20 lbs  Confused

Very good Alan.
It shows that food and the metabolism for digesting food and delivering energy to your body plays a role in psoriasis. I see small developments in the Netherlands too that are starting to investigate life style of patients.

Hi All

Thanks for the feedback. Nice to hear from you all.

Caroline, I totally agree. I think Celia hit the nail on the head early on in this thread - Eat like our grandparents used to.

Hi, I’m new to the forum and I’m not sure how to search all the responses to make sure I’m not repeating a question that has already been asked. So sorry if you’ve already answered this!

1. So you never eat pasta?? That’s my favorite and would be the toughest to give up by far
2. Can you drink alcoholic beverages (vodka or wine specifically)?

Thanks! Again, sorry if it’s already been asked!

I'm going to take a guess and say that pasta was a no due to gluten although not sure about gluten free pasta. And probably a no to alcoholic beverages due to sugar consumption, wine would probably be a definite no as well. Basing this on Alan saying he gave up gluten and sugar.

I haven't used dieting for psoriasis but currently working on my diet for other health reasons so thought I'd try to answer your question for you.
