Just thought I would share,

I just has my 4th - first session of UVB

I hope I'm doing the right thing by having more, it's always scary when a treatment stops.

But I'm trying to stay positive, I gave up smoking 6 weeks ago and I'm hoping this with the UVB will give me a longer remission

(the top of my back started to clear a little while ago!!)

just one Q, can my work force me to change my day off to fit one of the treatments in? UVB clinic is mon and Thurs my day off is Tues I work weekends too!!

Is your UVB prescribed ? if so they will keep an eye on you. If not then you should be careful not to over do it.

Well done on quitting the tobacco. they say it makes psoriasis worse, but it made no difference to mine at all.

Can't help you with your days off as I don't know employment rules in the UK, come to that I don't know employment rules anywhere. could you change your days to suit work? maybe you just have to talk it over with your boss.

Maybe someone else will have more info!

Hanna,

I have a UVB machine. I have had a lot of light therapy. I get checked for skin cancer. My insurance agreed that is was cost effective for me to have my own lightbox at home.
The way I got around the doctor who would not longer get paid, was: " How will I'll tell my employer that I need a two hour lunch @three times a week."
She relented and gave the RX for the machine. A suggestion for the future:
You might try e-bay or craigslist for a light box. I never use my lights more than 5 minutes and I generally use it once a week.

Best

You should be fine then, the NHS will keep a good eye on things. Thumb
