I just did my 3rd starter doses of Cosentyx today. I seem to be having some success as I am starting to clear a little bit already. I have taken Humira, Embrel, and Methotrexate over the last six years. Each worked initially for me, but after some time I would have to take them in conjunction with Methotrexate to clear completely. I am hoping this works without the Methotrexate. So far, I have not felt any side effects from the Cosentyx. I will update my progress weekly for anyone that is curious.

Best Regards,

Cotton

Hi Cotton and thank's for starting this new thread on your experience of Cosentyx, I see you have been down the route of some of the other biologicals, and methotrexate ......

Cosentyx is getting a very good success rate from what I read, and it seems as if you are already seeing it beginning to work.
I for one will follow your journey and look forward to reading your updates as they are always more believable than what we are told by dermatologists Thumb
Thanks for keeping us posted

Thank you for starting a thread about your journey using cosentyx it's a great help to others reading peoples experience. I will be following your progress and wish you well with it.  Thumb

I hope you don't mind but I changed your heading to "Cotton's Cosentyx journey" as we have a lot of Cosentyx threads and it helps with searches. If you're not happy with the change pleas let me know.

Fred.

Sorry for the delay in an update, but I was tied up this week. I did my fourth dose of Cosentyx this past Tuesday. I wish I would have thought to take pictures before I started this medication, but I failed to take them. I am still continuing to clear nicely. In fact, I am now able to start wearing shorts as my spots are barely noticeable. That is good news as temperatures are approaching 80 F. I am still not experiencing any side effects. I will take my final starter dose this Tuesday, and then scale back to only taking medication every three weeks.

Best Regards,

Cotton

That's great news Cotton, don't worry about when you get here, I'm just glad you are updating as it is a great reference for you when you want to look back over your treatment, as well as interesting for others looking for a treatment or already on the drug

It's great the Cosentyx is working so well so quickly for you, without side effects . I don't know how long you have suffered with psoriasis, but I know it was a great relief to me when I got clear after countless years of staying covered in all weathers .
It's good to hear you now feel comfortable enough to go out in shorts....now that's what I call success

I look forward to your next instalment and hope it's just as positive

Thank you for the update Cotton we are starting to hear a lot of positive remarks from our members for Cosentyx and there is nothing better than getting peoples personal opinions.

I'm following with great interest as it's something I may consider moving onto later this year.

You say every three weeks, I thought it was every 4 weeks for the maintenance dose? I put it in this post Cosentyx (secukinumab) that it was 4 which I got from the Coesntyx prescribing PDF I wonder if there are different regimes.

It may be four Fred. I will have to look at my prescription. For those wondering I have been dealing with this for about 18 years now!

Cotton

Thank you

The information I have is: 300 mg at weeks 0, 1, 2, 3, and 4. After the starting dose, the recommended maintenance dose is 300 mg every 4 weeks. (Some patients may be on 150 mg maintenance dose)

The 150mg dose is for PSA for the most part.

Thank you Matari. But I would have thought you need more for psoriatic arthritis not less? Or do you take it more often? Or do you mean people with only psoriatic arthritis? Sorry I'm confused.  Confused

Sorry Cotton I don't want to take your thread off topic, I'll remove some post after Matari has posted if you wish. .
